This is a thread to share your own experiences..of moments when a stranger performed a "random" act of kindness towards you. What did they do? How did you feel? How did it change you? What do you think now, looking back on it? Looking forward to your responses. GLLF IP: Logged |

When I was in college, I was almost mugged by a group of four very big and mean looking guys who wanted my video camera. A homeless (he told me) man in his late 50s early 60s seemed to appear out of nowhere and stood between me and the would be thiefs until a secirty guard at the hospital we were standing in front of came out and the muggers fled.Because I was so grateful and my hero didn't have much, I offered him everything in my purse as a "reward". He declined. So I gave him a hug instead One second I was watching him walk away, I turned back to the security guard for a second and then turned back and that man was nowhere to been seen almost like he disappeared. I now call him my guardian angel. It reinforced my belief that there is good in ALL men and when I start to get cynical, I think back on him and remember that a complete stranger put his life in jeopardy to save mine... <3 IP: Logged |

I don't know if this qualifies for a " random act of kindness" I was on holiday a few years back, when I was in a pub, drinking. I noticed a wallet was on the floor. So I picked it up and gave it to the bar-attendant and explained what happened. The wallet was thick with money and cards, so I kinda knew that it was most likely a tourist's wallet. Anyway, I went back to my table and a few minutes later, this guy came up to me and thanked me for finding his wallet. He than said that I could buy whatever drink I wanted, on him. So I did... So, perhaps it was me giving this guy a "random act of kindness". I didn't even look in his wallet.IP: Logged |

Humans are really bad at gratitude, or they would see kindness everywhere. Who hitched a lift for instance? Pollyanna-ism is something different.------------------ And I will give thee the treasures of darkness Isiah 45:3 IP: Logged |
