Ok I figure everyone here has some opinion about what spiritual truth is, so let's see if we can come up with a list we agree on.About a month ago a friend gave me a book which I felt was a distraction to my spiritual truth, so I wrote up a list of what I felt is spiritually true. Here's a couple of mine: 1. God is not outside of you looking down at you judging what you do. God is not concerned about stuff like who your sleeping with or what your smoking. (people are concerned about that not God.) 1a.God is inside of you. We are all interconnected with God. 2. What you sow you reap. Our thoughts eventually create our reality. IP: Logged |

Kat-What you have so far sounds like what I already believe and feel now. More of my spiritual truths are: We carry our own plans from pre-birth for what we want to accomplish this life. Orthodox religions put everyone in the same box, following rules that in some ways are unnatural. Organized religion is great for fellowship, but hasn't filled me with any more knowledge than what I've felt and experienced since I'm already part of God. Angela IP: Logged |

marsconjunctmercury - HA! I always thought the same based on Numerology! Yes, the ultimate truth is that all is one, but on a smaller scale, I believe the following. Music is magical. EVERYTHING is relative, including thoughts, feelings, etc. There is no discrete anything as all is one. So everything is therefore affected by everthing else. Thoughts are reality. The more they're believed, the more real. Dean. IP: Logged |

I've always liked this quotation since I found it a couple of years ago: quote: "As the zen koan says, 'If you can say what it is, that's not it.'"
I read this in "Anatomy of the Spirit" by Caroline Myss, Ph.D. It's not her saying, but it was my introduction to it regarding the ineffable (that "can't quite put your finger on it or put it into words") quality of spiritual truth. ------------------ Sincerely, divinia What wisdom can you find that is greater than kindness? -- Jean-Jacques Rousseau IP: Logged |

Focused Chi- I think the Universe gives us what we really really want!! If deep down we feel unworthy and unlovable - we will get aloneness no matter how much make-up and charm we put on. Is that the same or different from what we "need" hmmm? IP: Logged |

Hi Kat,The law of 'not always getting what you want but always getting what you need.' I consider when something presents into my life that appears not welcome and or negative. Many times there is a lesson to be learned in it, hence what we 'need.' Being an over the top optimist, I recite the phrase often. As for getting what we really really want. I think if one wants something with enough force/desire/passion. It will come to you. You can WILL it to happen. Another law or truth of the universe. *example* There is a particular sail boat I want to own. At this time in my life it's price tag is beyond me, and would seem to remain that way for much of the future.....BUT.....I WILL have that boat, I don't know how and im not concerned about the obstacles in front of me at all. I visualize myself sailing that boat, very happy..... and I will have it. BTW this is a fun thread you started. ------------------ When I grow up I want to be Wise IP: Logged |

Assumption is the mother of all fu-ckups. And I like too what you said Focused Chi... "The Universe does not always Give us what we Want...but it always Gives us what we Need."
I say that often myself. IP: Logged |
