Hi Guys,

I have an interview tomorrow for a job I really want. I was wondering - does anyone have any routines or things you do to help get a job you really want? Any advice would be helpful as I'm not too good in interviews.

Dean.

You could try visualization. Imagine yourself doing well in the interview.

Of course I always do this with jobs I really want, and I have yet to get one...but I think it may have something to do with destiny or something. Maybe I'm not meant for certain jobs.

A job interview is the only social situation where it is acceptable to brag about yourself. Be mindful to not appear cocky, but it is up to you communicate how perfect you are for the position.

Think about what the position will entail, and tell yourself all the reasons you would be great at it. Repete the reasons to the interviewer.

Good Luck!

Regards,

Focused Chi

Thanks guys. What do you think of Talismans? Usually I where my purple disk and a tiger stone for strength, but I don't know if they work. I also have some gold scarab beetle cufflinks I picked up from Egypt which I think is good luck, but I dunno. I think like AG said, it's like destiny and luck. We'll see what happens.

Use the self hypnosis of "Compassionate Confidence" that you are NEEDED by the company to add value to them. By seeking to add value because you like to than feeling that you want the job badly, you set up the correct vibes to land you that job.

Affirmation to use:
"I DESERVE TO ADD VALUE TO XYZ COMPANY IN XYZ POSITION"

To relieve pre Interview stress and any nervousenss during the interview, use this self hypnosis:

You are wealthier than Bill Gates and you own this company. You want to display to your top employees who are the interviewers, what kind of a fresh employee they must hire from now on. You want to test them by the quality of the questions they ask. You also want to make sure they dont get nervous while asking questions.
You want them to feel comfortable even though you are the boss. Whatever you answer is the right answer, because you are the BOSS. If they disagree fine, if they agree, fine.

If it's meant to be, then it's already yours!

"I am linked by an invisible, unbreakable, magnetic cord to all that is mine by Divine Right!"

"I have a wonderful work, in a wonderful way; I give wonderful service for wonderful pay!"

~Florence Scovel Shinn (both)

Keep following those hunches

`Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.'

Iqhunk, I loved what your reply! Where did you get these affirmations from? Is there a book on self-hypnosis and Compassionate confidence?

Well, once again I did it in half the time which always makes me feel stupid as it's meant to go for an hour. Very hot day too wearing a suit and all, but we'll see what happens. Just thought maybe I should type some closure. Thanks again for everyone's advice.

Hi Belage,
I have helped place about 30-40 newbies in great jobs. For some folk, I had to rewrite their resumes for them with the words that caught the attention over the run of the mill stuff. And I have had more years experience as an employer than employee so I know the psychology of an employer. We love a guy who treats the firm with the care like it were his own company.

There seemed to be only one logical way to infuse in an employee for an interview with this attitude without hurting the ego of the employer and it was Compassionate confidence.

The trick is to never be condescending nor cocky nor defeatist nor nervous.

It is my own little invention to help
newbies on the career path but it can work for experienced folk like Dean too.

Thanks, Iqhunk. I was hoping there was some book on the subject. :-)

I'll keep your suggestions in my mind next time I go job hunting. I have worked in HR, but somehow, I never managed to have your perspective. Thanks again, it was eye opening.

Hi Dean,
What exactly is this job position? I want to see your resume if you dont mind. The right wordings have a huge impact. Your "mission statement" has to be perfect and vibing it numerologically to your name frequency can pack a real punch.

If you are into programming, did you try out in Google or Silicon Valley tech companies?

Yeah, email me @ sesame@linda-goodman.com. Mate, this job required a 2500 word application. My CV is three pages long. I'll email them to you if you want to read them. But they're just words. I'm fairly happy in my current job.

The new one has this website: http://www.publicworks.qld.gov.au/ .
