Dear friends,
I'm new to the forum. And, I was wondering if I can get some guidance about the different systems of Numerology. I was more interested in the Chaldean - Hebrew Kabala system told by Linda in her book "Star Signs". But, as I was looking for the different books on this particular system, I came to know that the main system which is being used worldwide now-a-days is the Pythagorean system and not the Kabala system. I could not understand it because according to my knowledge and experiences with the Kabala system this is unarguably the best system with the correct-most results. Then, why people are opting for any other system over this one. Are other systems as good as the Kabala one? I mean, is it possible that we can get same results by both the systems when they are actually using the different value sets for the alphabets? Or, am I missing something here? I really hope that both the systems use the same astrological definitions of the numbers. Or, they don't? But, if they do, then how can we get same results by using the different value sets for the alphabets? Because only one system will give us the correct results for the person or/and the entity. Am I right, or again I am missing something? If you people can help me, its going to be easy for me to understand it and to comprehand. I will be looking forward to the replies. I know I need lots of them. ;-) So please send me a lot. I'll be waiting.
Bye.

Hey Mate, Welcome to LL! You know, I'm in agreement about Chaldean being the best and therefore the only numerology system that we should use, however, options are an awesome thing. There are compelling ideas as to why others systems might also be valid and useful. An interesting thread that I've dug up is here -> http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001935.html . Aselzion is the moderator of Through the Looking Glass if you want to check that out for more info or whatever. I've written a java program to help with Chaldean maths. I recently met a numerologist who uses the Pythagorean system and said she prefered talking ot people as she could learn more about them and give them motivation. However, my stance is that it is like science - there is a true answer that is not interpreted, hence a black and white program. That said, some things do require interpreting like opposing numbers etc. Anyhow, let me know what you think!

Dean.

Greetings...

Thanks Dean!

I use BOTH. When I began to study Numerology, the most common books were using the Pythagorean System, so that it what I used first. And given the context I had to work with at the time, it suited the purpose at hand, which was to better know myself and others.

When Linda wrote about the Chaldean System, I thought that it was also very accurate. As I say, it seems to be very good on an Esoteric level.

Being an Astrologer, I can see the value and application of BOTH Systems, and would never recommend that one choose ONLY one without experiencing them both.

The Pythagorean System uses different methods of calculating the numbers than the system that Linda and Cheiro taught in their books. (Linda's was pretty much a revamped version of Cheiro's... but that is another story.)

For example: the Pythagorean System will use the Whole Date of birth (month, day and year) to calculate what they call the Path of Destiny Number. The Chaldean System uses the DAY you were born to determine your Key Number of Birth.

As an astrologer, I see an application that I use that I haven't run across in any of the books I've studied.. or maybe only 1 or 2, but they never really explored the matter in any great depth. I plan to do this in my book that is currently in the works.

I wouldn't be so quick to choose only ONE System as the best, as my experience have shown me that they both offer valuable insight. Remember, as the Nazarene has told us: "In my Father's House there are many mansions...". There is more than one Road to Truth...

TRY them both. See what works in your practice. Compare the Numerological results to your Nativity. Repeat this exploration with the charts and numbers of MANY, MANY people, and then make a well educated decision as to what works for you. You may discover, as I have, that they both are valid and useful.

I say, why shut yourself off from another Source of information? It's all a tool. Learn to use the tools with knowledge and reverence, and they will serve you well.

Bright Blessings...

A

P.S. Yes the Planetary numbers as given by Linda does work for BOTH systems. The only addition that I would make is that 11 vibrates to the planet Neptune, 22 vibrates to the planet Uranus and 33 vibrates to Pluto, in addition to the 0.
