Seems like a bit of a misnomer to call them "Zombie functions." I think I prefer to call them "incredibly convenient effort-saver reactions that free up the brain to use for what we want to use it for." But that's just me.But really - if we didn't have these handy little subroutines wired in, think what a slog life would be! "Activate muscle sequence to initiate arm movement. Breathe. Extend radial flexing muscles in left upper appendage. Heartbeat. Heartbeat." It'd be terrible, and we'd never get anything done. Once again I marvel at the perfection that is nature. IP: Logged |

Is that why people's breath smells in the morning? Zombie funk?I liked your description, Johnny.... made me chuckle. * influx of air, contract throat muscles, vibrate voice box tightly, emit air at .01 second intervals, breathe, heartbeat heartbeat repeat IP: Logged |
