Most of us have felt it before -- that sinking feeling that something is about to happen, that something is not quite right. It’s the stuff of scary movies, X-Files episodes and psychic visits. But according to a new study by Ron Rensink, an associate professor in both psychology and computer science at UBC, the "sixth sense" is a distinct mode of visual perception and may be something all of us can learn to employ. He calls it "mindsight" -- the phenomenon where people can sense a change but do not see it (i.e. have a visual experience of it) for several seconds. Read More --> Mapping the Sixth Sense

Another interesting atricle I'd like to point out a couple of things though. I don't know why people are so sceptical of intuition, but I think it's because people can't really compete about this. People like tangible things that they can say they're better at, but reality doesn't work that way. Intuition is inherent in the smallest fundamental particles. Check out the following diagram: Now, there is a moment when the photon is travelling knowing where it is going, and the second electron knows where to pick it up. I always think that this is an example of both particles sensing the other and acting accordingly. This is the fundamental behaviour of how we touch things. The particles on our nerve endings exchange photons, they don't bump into each other. So, how do they know when to send or receive? It's is inherent in everything. Our bodies are just different manifestations. Dean. ------------------ Always think compassion... Sesame, thank you for the article. The other day I came across another scientific experiment that has proved that particles howmuch ever far they are do communicate each other, and this infact promotes the theory of Holographic Universe. In Hinduism, the universe is considered to be a Maya (Illussion), and this theory is pointing to this fact. It is a bit confusing, and I am still looking for more plausible explanation, and according to this theory even our brain is hollographic, which literally means one in all and all in one. It has been proved that the brain stores our memory in bits and pieces, but while retriving it, we don't seem to take much time - and what is more intresting is that even if a part of the brain is missing, the information is intact.sorry for this bit and pieces information, but I will find out much more presentable article once I find it. ------------------ Welcome Home to GhostVillage IP: Logged |

Very interesting research. An intuitive friend said this to me recently:
~It is strange how depression can happen before a sad event. I often think our minds must be travelling ahead of us in time. And we respond before we find out. Maybe another side to intuition?~
I believe it may also be a preparation for restrengthening focus/perception on what is most meaningful in life. For, you look back on what you were depressed about before the sad event in a different light.
Also, another interesting phenomenon is when optimism/joy precedes or conjoins tragedy. I wonder if this isn't an intuition of the near-future potential spiritual transformation that may be attained through experiencing the tragedy? That, if left unseized, may precede a crash, but if seized, may spiral one further onward in awareness. IP: Logged |

Wow that is so true, indeed, Lialei... Cheers,
