Hello Everyone

I was hoping someone could help me with some suggestions to help secure a good job?

As you may be aware, I’m studying for my Bachelor in Health Sciences - Naturopathy. This course is my dream, but it is so bloody expensive!! Each year I have to find upwards of $500 per subject – the whole course is nearly $25, 000.

This is my dream career, the only thing I want to do – but I have to save up & pay for it myself.

I try and stay positive, but I am finding it so hard to find a job that pays well enough to support me (rent, food etc.) AND pays enough so I can save towards this course.

At the moment I seem to be attracting enough work (40 hrs a week if I want it) – but I seem to be getting paid less and less. The job I was offered this week pays $10.50/hr!!! In other words – after tax, less than $400 per week (The AVERAGE weekly income in Australia is nearly triple that!!)

I’m not an idiot – I have a degree & two diplomas behind me, I present well, speak well, look good and I have been working since I was 12 - so I have plenty of experience in the workforce... but I just don’t seem to be able to secure a job that pays well

WHAT CAN I DO TO CHANGE THIS???

For example, I applied for a job last week that would be perfect for me – making $1000 per week. Not only am I OVER-qualified for this position, but I’d be just down the road from my partner (we could have lunch together

I’d really LOVE this job – it would be mentally stimulating, enjoyable – and I could pay off my course in less than a year!!! (That would be FANTASTIC!!).

Can someone please offer me a suggestion on how I can improve my job situation? Any ideas on how I can secure this job??

I am SOO grateful to hear how anyone got out of a similar situation and how

Thank you

NEBEL

Wow, best of Luck with everything! You sure seem like a hard worker. I sincerely hope it works out for you. I don't know what to suggest, as everything I do doesn't exactly work out the way it plans. I'm very happy in my job though, but I don't know if its my dream job. Here are my suggestions:

Go to a crystal shop and ask about positive gem stones. These might help attract positive attention when they're considering you etc. I use tiger's eye agate, or quartz for clarity. But as I said, hasn't worked in interviews yet. Still stuck where I am.

Secondly, try some positive self talk or assertions. "I WILL GET THIS JOB" etc. Try to be positive from the moment you wake up. If you don't get it, then at least you're creating a positive outlook for your future!

I'm sending you as much positivity as I can. Best of Luck!

Dean.
