I had never heard of Thomas Troward..."What you really are in essence is a concentration of the ONE Universal Life-Spirit into conscious Individuality. If you live from the recognition of this Truth as your starting point it makes you Free. You cannot do this as long as you imagine that you have one centre and the Infinite another. You can only do it by recognizing that the two centres coincide and That which as being Infinite is incapable of centralization in Itself finds its centre in you." --Thomas Troward
This is painstakingly well articulated,
and it appears to express my own view.
But I had never looked at it quite that way before.
It sounds almost Cabalistic.
The yod of light descends into matter,
to be as a candle lit to the glory of God,
for all to see.
(Very Cabalistic.)
And Christ himself has said:
"a candle need sit under no bushel!"
Meaning, a man has liberty to uplift his light,
to speak the truth; that he himself is light,
and gives testimonial evidence of an even
greater Light, of which he is but a spark
(albeit, a powerful spark, and brighter than the rest),
and from which he has descended,
for the sake of illuminating the unlit torches
that mortals carry like thorns in their breasts,
and thereby bring light to the world.
When i was a kid we played this game, "disease", which was basically a bastardized game of tag, with the difference that every person who got "tagged" ALSO became "IT" (instead of "IT" being something you traded to the first person you tagged, and the game ends, now, the last one tagged is chased by every one
else. At the end, he gets to pick who's "IT", or, rather,
who's got "IT"; that being the disease.
But what if a Yod of Spirit, and not a viral germ, could be contracted in this way. And let us consider the possibility that, just as certain diseases appear on the face of the earth, and some of these are far more devastating in their impact than others, so, it might be possible to imagine a Godman, in place of a germ, equally as powerful in his capacity for Good, as a germ has power to destroy, entering by the winds (you know not hither they come, nor whither they blow) the Womb of the Virgin, and, by and by, illuminating the Body of Christ?
Imagine,
if Chist was Divinely Inpired,
the way another might be infected...
and Christ tagged the disciples...
(re-lit their spirit fires)
how many degrees of seperation are we
from what amounts to the second coming?
We know not the time nor the place thereof.
But, we are to wait for Him.
Vigilantly, we should light a candle,
and sit by the door,
to wait for His coming.
Perhaps, read the scipture to pass the time.
Until, one day, perhaps, it occurs to us,
that the candle we hold in our own hand,
is a Geniune Spark of the Divine,
Incarnated Here to lead us to Salvation!
The light it sheds is truly the Glory of God!
And our little shack, illuminated by "mere" light,
is, after all, The Kingdom of Heaven.
Christ might also have said
(at least, I'm confident he would agree):
"Who saves one life, saves the world entire."
This is the value of an individual.
Where this is a spark of consciousness,
there is an earth.
And where there is an earth,
there is a potential heaven.
Author's note:
I know there are infinite mistakes
in this ill-fated presentation of "pure truth",
but doesnt it taste just like "pure candy"?
