Dear Silverstone, Please forgive my intrusion on your posting. I am new to this great site and not familiar with protocol as of yet. I was surfing the forums and came across your posting of August 02, 2006. You were discussing "The Teachings of Don Juan" with Lialei. In your posting you mentioned "The Tenth Insight," by James Redfield. You may be interested to know that there are two more books in that series. The next one is "The Secret of Shambhala"--In Search of the Eleventh Insight. The one after that is "The Celestine Vision"--Living the New Spiritual Awareness. Also, "The Celestine Prophecy", the movie is out. Again, forgive the intrusion--just passing on information I thought you might be interested in. Blessed Be. Master ZoserIP: Logged |

Dear Silverstone, Greetings! Yes, I have read all the books. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed reading them. I believe that it is not so much us reading the books, but also, the books "reading" us, if you intuit what I mean, after all, reading may give us information, which in turn, leads to knowledge, but when we incorporated that knowledge into our lives, then it can become Wisdom. Each one of us will interpret the readings differently, and for that reason, I will not reveal the story of "The Secret of Shambhala." I am anxious, however, to discuss the book with you in detail after you have read it! It is then that we will get the most benefit from it by sharing "insights" and what we have discovered relative to our own lives and experiences. I will mention that the book has a chapter: "Cultivating Energy". It is of particular interest to me, being a vegetarian, because it deals with the foods that we consume. It speaks of the foods that give us energy and the ones that rob us of energy. I will end for now by quoting some of Redfield's "Author's Note": "When I wrote "The Celestine Prophecy" and "The Tenth Insight," I was firmly convinced that human culture was evolving through a series of insights into life and spirituality, insights that could be described and documented. All that has occurred since has only deepened this belief. We are becoming fully conscious of a higher spiritual process operating behind the scenes in life, and in doing so, we are leaving behind a materialistic worldview that reduces life to survival, gives a pittance to Sunday religion, and uses toys and distractions to push away the true awe of being alive. We discover that a real experience of the divine within awaits us, and if we can find this connection, our lives are infused with even more clarity and intuition. We begin to catch visions of our destiny, of some mission that we can accomplish, provided we work through our distracting habits, treat others with a certain ethic, and stay true to our heart. In fact, with the Tenth Insight, this perspective expands even more to include the full scope of history and culture. At some level, all of us know that we come from another heavenly place into this earthly dimension to participate in one overall goal: to slowly, generation by generation, create a completely spiritual culture on this planet. Yet even as we grasp this invigorating insight, a new one, the Eleventh, is arriving. Our thoughts and attitudes count in making our dreams come true. In fact, I believe we are on the verge of understanding, finally, the way our mental intentions, our prayers, even our secret opinions and assumptions influence not only our own success in life but the success of others as well. Based on my own experience, and on what is happening around us, this book is offered as an illustration of this next step in awareness. It is my belief that this insight is already emerging out there, swirling among thousands of late-night spiritual discussions (such as ours, Silverstone), and hidden just below the hatred and fear that still mark our era. As before, our only responsibility is to live up to what we know, and then to reach out...and spread the word." You can probably get the movie on DVD.Have a Blessed Day! Master Zoser IP: Logged |

Dear Master Zoser....Have you seen the movie? I just bought the movie yesterday and watched it. The book, of course, was much better, but I also enjoyed the movie. I am curious as to what insight you've reached. As I was watching the movie, I was blown away as to how much I related to the film. I have experienced and still experience much of that myself. Especially seeing ahead... it's somewhat scary sometimes actually. Lately, it has been hapenning more often in my dreams when astral traveling. I have to go for now, but I would like to further discuss (and, of course, more in detail)this with you... your experiences with the insights. I have this feeling like I know you... Is this your first user name? Lia... I would love to hear your thoughts

i have read all the Don Juan books several times over the years- my suggestion is to read them in order from first to last- the quote about looking at trees a new way and many other things have helped me out along the way altho caused me to be considered even a little more eccentric by the 'norms'. The funniest part or one of them is Don Juans friends 'farts of thunder'! LOLIP: Logged |

Here are the insights from The Celestine Prophecy:Insight #1 The first insight occurs when we become conscious of the coincidences in our lives and that some other process is operating. It manifests as a profound sense of restlessness which leads people to take a 'me-first' and demanding attitude. Once we reach a certain critical mass, the entire culture will begin to take these coincidences more seriously. Chance coincidences are meant to happen. Recognizing and following them will start you on your path to your spiritual truth. The coincidences take the form of a series of events which point to a higher path. Each is a message leading us to a grander awareness. There is a spiritual program in operation. These coincidences are leading us to our spiritual destiny. Once you become aware of these coinincedences, you will note they happen more often. We have been pooh-poohing miraculous or chance happenings as nothing to seriously consider or as anything that could remotely have an intended purpose or provide a sense of direction. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2nd Insight The 2nd insight puts our current awareness into a longer historical perspective for the purpose of attaining a new approach to Spirituality. It teaches us that we should live our beliefs rather than talk about them. These beliefs are communicated by actions that we take in our own lives which project a model to others. Historically, mankind has been through periods which are controlled by various beliefs and attitudes. For example, during the Middle Ages reality was defined by the Christian Church. Because of the church influence, each person was to choose between good and evil as guided by interpretation of the scriptures by those most qualified to do so, i.e. the priests of the Church. Since the common man was not qualified to make such an interpretation, he had to rely exclusively on those given by the Church. Every aspect of the medieval world was defined in other-worldly terms, which was interpreted by the representatives of the church. As the priesthood began to fall apart through abuse of power and violations of their oaths to god and church, rebellion grew among the populace. Factions and splinter groups developed their own interpretation of the scriptures. The rebellion was partly due to disgust with the actions of the established priesthood and partly because the people felt they should have access to the scriptures and be allowed to form their own personal interpretations without the need of any middlemen. As the nature of the world was explored, science developed, resulting in an ever increasing quest for knowledge and understanding of our universe and its properties. Our questions regarding God and the meaning of life had not been answered, so we sent out explorers to report back on what they found as a means of keeping us busy. As mankind progressed, mechanization and technology led to higher and higher levels of consumerism, thereby leading us away from our age old quest for the spiritual meaning of life. The purpose of the 2nd insight is to extend our consciousness of historical time to enable us to see the progression of humankind back to its quest for spirituality and away from our current preoccupation with economic security. Once we come to realize this as a natural and inevitable progression, we can then take steps to help the process along. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3rd Insight It describes a new understanding of the physical world, teaching us how to perceive what was formerly an invisible energy. This energy is what pervades and sustains the universe. It is malleable to human intention and expectation and can be consciously caused to flow out into the world and affect other energy systems. Interactions between living systems, including humans, involves a blending, depletion or absorption of this energy, depending on the situation. The physical world is actually a vast system of energy. The universe is energy which responds to our expectations, since people are part of the universe, when we have a question, people will show up who have the answer we seek. Sometimes it might not be the complete answer to your question, but it will provide a part. Perception of this energy is through an enhanced, heightened sensitivity to beauty. Beauty is on the same wavelength as this heretofore invisible energy. (aura and subtle energy viewing techniques would help us to learn to percieve and consciously manipulate these energy flows, see AURAVIEW.ZIP on KeelyNet.....Vanguard Sciences) How do you recognize when someone has a message for you? Sudden, spontaneous eye contact or a sense or recognition indicates the two people involved should talk. Such recognition indicates that person is in a similar 'thought group' as yourself and that one or both of you have information which needs to be exchanged. You should open up to communication by overcoming any reservations or shyness that might prevent you from approaching the person. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4th Insight The 4th insight points out that for a long time, we humans have been unconsciously competing for the only part of this energy we have been open to; that part that flows between people. Conflict occurs when humans feel the need to control and dominate one another. When we control another human, we absorb their energy, leading to a sense of gratification and motivation to continue the practice. We thus become 'addicted' to the feeling and will get progressively more demanding and out of control in our efforts to absorb ever more energy from our interactions with others. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5th Insight The 5th insight deals with how we don't have to steal energy from others but instead can absorb energy directly from the universe if only we can open up to it. The universe and our local environment is rich with energy which we can learn to sense and become a part of. Once this insight is understood, we no longer have the need to engage in situations which attempt to dominate or create conflict with others. Recognizing that such vast stores of energy are ours to freely use will help mankind to eliminate the many tensions and stresses that arise from interactions with others who drain energy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6th Insight The 6th insight deals with 'Control Dramas', which are ways we have learned to get energy flowing in our direction. They then become programmed into our subconscious as patterns to be repeated over and over again because they work to get control of a situation, dominate it and pull power from others into you. Childhood traumas block our ability to fully experience the mystical. All humans tend toward one of four "control dramas." Intimidators, Interrogators, Aloof people and Poor-Me's. We all fit into one category or another. One control drama is dominant but you will use whichever you need at the moment to feel more secure, tending to repeat the category which works best for you. Once you learn to recognize the control drama currently in place, you can sidestep it to avoid conflict and the associated draining of energy from your participation. Energy is stolen from you when you engage in another person's control drama. We all do it subconsciously when we feel the need. Covert manipulations for energy cannot exist if you bring them to consciousness by pointing them out. Such a revealing causes both people to become more real and honest. Since control dramas are instilled in us in reaction to the control dramas instilled in our parents by their parents, we must seek out why we act as we do, reintepret the experience from a more evolved and spiritual point of view and discover who we really are. Once we accomplish this, the control drama dissolves away and our real lives take off. It should be pointed out that control dramas can also be created as a defense mechanism for any situation which removes energy from the child. Thus, the parents are not always the source of the control drama. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7th Insight The 7th insight deals with the process of consciously evolving yourself, staying alert to every coincidence, every answer the universe provides for you. Sometimes, when things have a special meaning, they jump out at you, entering your consciousness in a forceful way, coming to you as guidance. It also deals with the interpretation of dreams. Compare the dream story to your life. Bad dreams have the most important messages since they act as warnings of things that are probable but can be avoided by recognizing the message from the dream. We are also guided by our thoughts and daydreams. (Does this mean that if you learn to consciously control your dreams, you can, as the Yogis' and Hunas say, influence your destiny?...>>> Jerry) When a thought comes, we must ask why? How does it relate to you as seen from the position of an observer. When we assume the observer position, it places us IN THE FLOW of evolution, allowing us an opportunity to influence it to our benefit. The method of overcoming fear images is to substitute a good outcome in place of the bad. Eventually, negative images will almost never happen. When they occur thereafter, they have particularly serious meanings and their message should be dealt with accordingly. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8th Insight The 8th insight describes how we can aid others as they bring us the answers we seek. (This follows from the 3rd Insight where all energy is interconnected, including through people, so when you seek an answer, the spiderweb of energy will resonate with another who has your answer and call them to you to provide that answer....>>> Jerry) It also describes a whole new ethic governing the way humans should treat each other in order to facilitate everyone's evolution. Energy can be used in a new way when relating to people in general, particularly with how we deal with children. Children need our energy on a constant basis, without condition. The worst thing you can do is to drain energy from a child while correcting them. Control dramas are then created by the child to counter the loss of energy. Children should be included in conversations and not spoken of as if they are not present or in the third person. You should also never take responsiblity for more children than you can devote your full attention to. This cancels out the need on the childs part to compete with other children for the attention of the adult. Questions from a child should be answered with the utmost seriousness, avoiding fanciful answers which can confuse the child or build mistrust. Find a way to tell the child the truth in terms they can understand. Addiction to an opposite sex can pull energy from us because we have yet to access this opposite sex energy in ourselves. When we first begin to evolve, we automatically begin to receive our opposite-sex energy as it comes in naturally from the universe. However, another person can come along who provides this energy and who can unknowingly cut us off from the universal source, thereby making us addicted TO THEM as our primary source. You must learn to recognize when a control dramas is in place, break through or sidestep them and focus on providing energy to the person who feels in need. When the energy is provided through an alternate route (the universe or environment) or exchanged in a mutually beneficial fashion between the two people, a comfort zone is established which fulfills the needs of both persons. Interaction in group settings is also a part of the 8th Insight. In such group meetings, some people feel self-conscious or shy and don't participate as easily as others. As the group members talk, new ideas surface one at a time. If the group is aware of what is happening around them, they can sensitize themselves to feel who is about to speak with the next most powerful idea. By consciously focusing their energies on this person, they will help to bring out the idea with the greatest clarity. This technique is used to allow everyone to participate fully. One must be aware that the group energy focus can instill a good feeling in the current speaker, who continues to speak after the idea has been expressed, thereby monopolizing the conversation which ends up sapping the group energies. The idea is to add to the energy of each member of the group by projecting your own energy and not to become so addicted to the 'rush' of energy as to monopolize and dominate the group interaction. Share the energy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9th Insight The 9th insight deals with where humans are going with this new evolutionary process as a direct result of consciously directed evolution. Old trees have significant stores of energy that create high energy zones of great beauty and spiritual strength. As we evolve, we will voluntarily decrease our population to allow the growth and culturing of these old tree regions. It predicts the development of totally automatic support systems to sustain and nourish human life. Currency will not be needed and intuition will be the guide for the actions in each persons life, thus establishing a harmonious balance in everyone's lives. Our sense of purpose will be satisfied by the thrill of being able to influence our own evolution. Mankind is on this planet to learn to consciously evolve. It further predicts that as whole groups of people continue to increase their vibrations, they will reach a point where they will simply disappear from the perceptions of those on the lower vibrations.

We find numbered *Steps, they move us up the spirals of consciousness *Laws, we are conditioned to obey laws *Gateways or Doorways, we belief they move us to higher light (heaven archetype) *Insights, the quest for knowledge about who we are *Affirmations, they work as daily guides and reminders *Rules, we are trained to obey rules These act as guides to help with Healing, Manifestation, and Transformation, yet to me speak of a form of control in the sense of giving away your personal power to a system, as you are unable to sort things out on your own. Until you can do that, you will not be able to manifest. Your consciousness must evolve clearly, which comes as you get rid of people, places, and things in your life that bring chaos and drama and waste your time, energy, and thought. Train yourself to mentally connect with your soul on an ongoing basis. Don't ask it for anything. Observe how it programs your reality here. Work with your soul's goals at a given time, for they quickly change as your consciousness evolves. When you are ready, you attract whatever system is spiking in the grid at that time, in order to manifesting the next. Manifesting in the physical frequency is far more complicated than meditating, praying, rituals, stating your intent, or others methods people employ to get what they want. ------------------ The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. Going Back to Carlos Castenada's The teachings of Don Juan~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Power rests on the kind of knowledge that one holds. What is the sense of knowing things that are useless? They will not prepare us for our unavoidable encounter with the unknown. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "There are no volunteers on the warriors' path," don Juan said to me under the guise of an explanation. "A man has to be forced into the warriors' path against his will." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Nothing in this world is a gift. Whatever has to be learned must be learned the hard way. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Dwelling upon the self too much produces a terrible fatigue. A man in that position is deaf and blind to everything else. The fatigue itself makes him cease to see the marvels all around him ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Moreover, This is one may favorites from Castenada's,The Fire from within ~*~* There is no completeness without sadness and longing, for without them there is no sobriety, no kidness. Wisdom without kindness and knowledge without sobriety are useless. ~*~*

insight #11: becoming conscious of and learning how to master and refine this power that we've always known about called prayer. In his new book, "The Secret of Shambhala in search for the 11th insight” James Redfield explains that …the 11th insight is about becoming conscious of and learning how to master and refine this power that we've always known about called prayer. The latest research has shown that it's not just something we do when we sit down and feel the need to pray. Prayer is energy, vision, and influence that we direct with our attitudes that is constant. He emphasizes in his new book is that we all have this creative power that comes out of us that influences what happens to ourselves in life, influences others, and the culture. Depending upon our thoughts and wishes, this power can either have a very positive or negative effect.
One of the things in "The Secret of Shambhala," James Redfield explains, that the reader experiences is connecting with the greater divine energy within and then having the overflow experience where you have a physical sensation of being full of energy. You then visualize this energy overflowing into the world. That in itself, creates a stronger field that goes out from you. It's united with your power of visualization. Primarily, it's a question of being mindful of our thoughts and attitudes towards others. This gets into the phenomena called self-fulfilling prophecy, where what we think is not only possible, it is usually what we get. There is a energy field that flows out from us at all times and this field has a prayer effect. Our attitudes and thoughts towards others influence them in very real and direct ways. We've always thought it was okay to think bad thoughts about someone as long as we didn't impolitely verbalize them. An attitude towards someone has the same effect, even more so, than mere verbalization. This is the great change and 11th insight, which is all about realizing that our thoughts, attitudes, and expectations have that much power. He goes on explaining that we're finally catching up to what the mystics have been talking about. We're learning ways to study it. What we need to do now is refine it so that we know exactly what's happening and how prayer power works. It influences people in the way you would expect a faith or healing power to influence. If someone walks by and you think, "That person is dressed terribly." Then because we are all connected, our minds are connected to their minds, so suddenly they take on our mind-set, and start to think, "I feel bad about myself and I don't feel good about the way I look." It has a telepathic effect on their self-esteem. The reverse is also true. If we think, this person has genius within them and if we expect this from the other person, then we can actually lift them into his/her the higher self. We all have a direct effect on one another that can be positive or harmful. Prayer power goes out and creates that future and reality. Realizing that we are spiritual beings with great potential. We can move into these synchronistic moments where we are led through life and the doors open up for us. We do live in a spiritual world in which we have the higher self guiding us, but we are also part of God and have the same creative power as this great source. Also, here's an article from his other bookThe Celestine Vision: Living the New Spiritual Awareness from a new book by James Redfield When James Redfield wrote The Celestine Prophecy and The Tenth Insight, he crystallized a new spiritual vision for millions of people around the world. The books describe an emerging global renaissance already under way and point to exciting spiritual experiences we can all recognize. Now in The Celestine Vision, the author discusses for the first time the historical and scientific background of this planetary awakening . . . an awakening that will shape us and our world in the new millennium. Focusing on our individual perceptions of synchronicity, Redfield cites examples from his own experience as he clarifies how mysterious coincidences lead us toward our special destiny. He examines one hundred years of discovery in physics and psychology to show an inevitable synthesis of Eastern and Western ideas. The unmistakable message in this convergence is that human history is purposeful, that both miracles and scientific discoveries are part of the same unbroken chain of evolution toward a better world. Then with the same immediacy that made his earlier books so revelatory, Redfield guides us through the strategies that help us recognize and explore our own vision for our lives. He delves into the hidden energies of our personal dramas, the mystical experiences that resolve them and the process through which we can discover our unique missions on this planet. Step by step, Redfield helps us explore the farther reaches of our memory, recalling the details of the Afterlife and a World Vision that can guide our actions in the future. For everyone who read The Celestine Prophecy and The Tenth Insight and hungered for more about the ideas expressed there, The Celestine Vision further expands our consciousness about the changes coming to fruition in this historical moment. The truth of The Celestine Vision is that we are all spiritual beings acting to spiritualize the culture of planet Earth. All we have to do is hold this vision and act with courage and the world will truly transform. (From the jacket flaps of the new book.) * * * * * Preface: Observing the Transformation
It does not take the mystery of a new millennium to convince us that something is shifting in human consciousness. For those with a perceptive eye, the signs are everywhere. Polls shows a growing interest in the mystical and unexplained. Respected futurists see a world-wide search for inner satisfaction and meaning. And the general expressions of culture -- books, television documentaries, the content of the daily news -- all reflect a growing outcry for a return to quality and integrity and for the rebuilding of a community-based sense of ethics. Most important, we can sense something changing in the quality of our own experience. Our focus seems to be shifting away from abstract arguments about spiritual theory or dogma and reaching out for something deeper: the real perception of the spiritual as it occurs in daily life. When I am asked about the popularity of my first two novels, The Celestine Prophecy and The Tenth Insight, I always reply that this acceptance is only a reflection of the mass recognition of the specific spiritual experiences these books describe. Increasingly more of us, it seems, are becoming aware of the meaningful coincidences that occur every day. Some of these events are large and provocative. Others are small, almost imperceptible. But all of them give us evidence that we are not alone, that some mysterious spiritual process is influencing our lives. Once we experience the sense of inspiration and aliveness that these perceptions evoke, it is almost impossible not to pay attention. We begin to watch for these events, to expect them, and to actively seek a higher philosophical understanding of their appearance. Both of my novels are what I call adventure parables. They were my way of illustrating what I believe is a new spiritual awareness sweeping humanity. In the adventures, I was trying to describe the personal revelations that each of us seems to be experiencing as our awareness increases. Written as stories, and based on my own experiences, these revelations could be easily portrayed within a specific plot and group of characters much like they were happening in the real world. In this role, I've always thought of myself in terms of a journalist or social commentator, attempting to experientially document and illustrate particular changes in the human ethos that I believe are already occurring. In fact, I believe the evolution continues to move forward as the culture experiences ever more spiritual insight. At least two more novels in the Celestine series are planned. I've chosen a nonfiction format for this book because I think, as human beings, we're in a very special place in relationship to this growing awareness. We all seem to glimpse it, even to live it for a time, and for reasons we will discuss in this book, we are often thrown off balance and have to struggle to regain our spiritual perspective. This book is about dealing with those challenges, and the key, I believe, lies in our ability to really discuss what we are experiencing with each other, and to do so as openly and as honestly as possible. Fortunately, we seem to have passed an important landmark in this regard. Most of us now seem to be speaking about our spiritual experiences without undue self-consciousness and fear of criticism. Skeptics still abound, but the balance of opinion seems to have shifted, so that the knee-jerk ridicule of the past is no longer so common. We once tended to hide our synchronistic experiences from others, and even to dismiss them ourselves, for fear of being the subject of jokes and laughter. Now, in what seems like only a few short years, the scales have tipped in the other direction, and those who are too closed-minded are now taken to task for their skepticism. Public opinion is shifting, I believe, because enough of us are aware that such extreme skepticism is nothing more than an old habit fashioned by centuries of adherence to the Newtonian-Cartesian view of the world. Sir Isaac Newton was a great physicist, but as many current thinkers have declared, he shortchanged the universe by reducing it to a secular machine, describing it as operating only according to unwavering mechanistic laws. The seventeenth-century philosopher René Descartes preceded Newton by popularizing the idea that all we need to know about the universe is its basic laws, and that while these operations might have been first pushed into motion by a creator, they now function totally on their own. After Newton and Descartes, any contention that there is an active spiritual force in the universe or that higher spiritual experience is anything other than hallucination was too often dismissed out of hand. In this book, we will see that this old mechanistic worldview has been discredited since the early decades of the twentieth century, chiefly through the influence of Albert Einstein, the pioneer of quantum physics, and the newer research on prayer and intentionality. But the prejudices of the mechanistic worldview linger in our consciousness, guarded by an extreme skepticism that serves to screen out the more subtle spiritual perceptions that would challenge its assumptions. Understanding how this works is important. In most cases, to experience higher spiritual experience, we must be at least open to the possibility that such perception exists. We know now that one actually has to suspend or "bracket" skepticism and try in every way possible to open up to spiritual phenomena in order to experience them. We must "knock on the door," as it has been expressed in Scripture, before any of these spiritual experiences can even be detected at all. If we approach spiritual experience with a mind that is too closed and doubting, we perceive nothing and thereby prove to ourselves, quite erroneously and repeatedly, that higher spiritual experience is a myth. For centuries, we cast out these perceptions not because they weren't real, but because at the time, we didn't want them to be real. They didn't fit into our secular view of the world. As we shall see in greater detail later, this skeptical attitude gained supremacy in the seventeenth century because the failing medieval worldview it succeeded was so full of contrived theories, charlatans on power trips, hexes and salvation for sale, and all manner of insanity in this setting, thinking people longed for an established, scientific description of the physical universe that cut through all the nonsense. We wanted to see the world around us as reliable and natural. We wanted to be free of all the superstition and myth, and create a world where we could develop economic security -- without thinking that strange and weird things were going to pop up in the dark to scare us. Because of the need, we understandably began the modern age with an overly materialistic and simplified view of the universe. To say that we threw the baby out with the bath water is an understatement. Life in modern times began to feel devoid of the inspiration that only higher spiritual meaning can provide. Even our religious institutions were affected. The miracles of religious mythology were too often reduced to metaphors, and churches became more about social togetherness, moral teaching, and intellectual belief than about the pursuit of actual spiritual experience. Yet, with our perception of synchronicity and other spiritual experiences in the current historical moment, we are connecting with a genuine spirituality that has always been our potential. In a sense, this awareness is not even new. It is the same kind of experience that some human beings have had throughout history, documented by a whole treasury of writers and artists around the world, including William James, Carl Jung, Thoreau and Emerson, Aldous Huxley (who called such knowing the Perennial Philosophy), and, in recent decades, George Leonard, Michael Murphy, Fritjof Capra, Marilyn Ferguson, and Larry Dossey. The scale on which these experiences are now entering human consciousness is, however, completely unprecedented. So many people are now having personal spiritual experiences that we are creating nothing less than a new worldview, one that includes and extends the old materialism and transforms it into something more advanced. The social change we are talking about is not a revolution, where the structures of society are torn down and rebuilt as one ideology overcomes another. What is occurring now is an internal shift in which the individual changes first, and the institutions of human culture more or less look the same but are rejuvenated and transformed in place, because of a new outlook by those who maintain them. As this transformation plays out, most of us will probably remain in the general line of work we have always pursued, in the families we love, and in the particular religions we find most truthful. But our vision of how our work and family and religious life should be lived and experienced will transform dramatically as we integrate and act on the higher experiences we perceive. My observation -- as I have expressed before -- is that this transformation in awareness is sweeping across human culture through a kind of positive social contagion. Once enough people begin to live this awareness in an open way, discussing it freely, then others see this modeled awareness and immediately realize that it allows them to live outwardly more of what they already intuitively know inside. Afterward, these others begin to emulate the new approach, eventually discovering those same experiences -- and others -- for themselves, and go on to be models in their own right. This is the process of social evolution and consensus building in which we are all engaged in the waning years of the twentieth century. In this way, we are creating, I believe, a way of life that will ultimately drive the next century and millennium. The purpose of this book is to more directly explore the experiences so many of us are sharing, to review the history of our awakening and to look closely at the specific challenges involved in living this way of life every day. It is my hope that this work will confirm the underlying reality behind the information illustrated in the first two novels of the Celestine series, and, while far from complete, will help to further clarify our picture of the new spiritual awareness already forming out there.

Thanks for posting all those Silverstone.I read the celestine prophecies a few years back and I very much enjoyed the book. It's nice to get a refresher. I love that the author places the power back in mans hands. If there is a god, I think this is what god would want, for us to realize that we have the power to help ourselves and others, that we don't have to wait for a divine intervention to help us or punish us. I believe the monotheistic religions were more applicapble when peopel lived in realy hard conditions, such as the harsh desert environment where they emerged. People had little control over their environment so they needed to pray for help. Now we're learning that we not only have mental control to manifest, but we also have so much physical control over the world with medicine, technology, and science. If the age of pisces was about discovering god, the age of aquarius will be about discovering that man is god. IP: Logged | |
