For all you fellow knowflakes:

quote:

To be free of authority is to

die to everything of

yesterday so that your mind

is always fresh, always

young, innocent, full of

vigor and passion it is only

in that state than one

observes and learns.

J Krishnamurthy (1895-1986)

quote:

It is not a matter of

acceptance or denial, but

rather of inquiry into

yourself - which does not

demand any form of authority.

On the contrary, it demands

that you should follow

nobody, that you should be a

light unto yourself.

J Krishnamurthy

quote:

In oneself lies the whole

world, and if you know how to

look and learn, the door is

open and the key is in your

hand. Nobody on earth can

give you either that key or

the door to open, except

yourself.

J Krishnamurthy

your mission?

Follow your own heart..for each journey is as individial as a snowflake-knowflake..no one can show you the way, but YOU. ...

Ah ha....

Well J Krishnamurthi is exactly against masters/gurus/saviours and asks us to repudiate our choices and be your own authority. That is true freedom.

It is said a guru appears when the student is ready. This is fine initially because the student has knocked on the door.
But the guru is entirely the students creation. Just as we love our children because we love our own flesh and blood.

Krishnamurthi wisely advices the students be their own light. Well I cud go on, but certain things will dawn on each student as he/she undertakes the journey of self inquiry. So not saying much. Now

Heaven is all around me and you. Thanks, I'm in touch with myself. And I could see you from there. You fear. My advice "Don't"
Let go. "Ye are God". You are free. One day you will realize.

>>>..why would anyOne choose to live in sin?

Do not worry about others, but first look within.

Many chose to live in sin (or ignorance). But not for long. The presense of a light house saves many shipwrecks. So it is this light that is within each one. It shines momentaruly but helps pull the sinner back to light.

Not one will go wasted. I cannot say what will happen to the extremely bad ones. The ones with no hope. But no sin is greater than the sin of unpardon. I do not see such a bad apple throught out the earth. Hehehe...

Cheers.

Will tell you a story, twisting the original based on culture:

Once, there was a spiritual man named John, living in the country side all by himself. One dark night he heard a knock on the door. He opened the door and saw a man soaked because of the rain. "I have no place to spend the night. My car is broke." said the stranger. John was kind hearted and he allowed him to spend the night at his house. He gave the stranger the best whiskey. He even threw the steak on the grill and baked some potatoes. The next morning the stranger left with a Thank-you note. John smiled and went on his chore for that day. Later that day when he turned on the local television channel. He saw the news of a murder that happenened 50 miles away from his house. And the description of the suspect was exactly that of whom he had entertained last nite. John felt extremely bad and guilty because he had entertained a murderer. He stepped out in to the patio , grieved and a heavy heart. He asked "Why?". Suddenly a voice was heard in the air "Dear John. Do not worry. You feel this way after entertaining him for a night. Can you imagine my state? I have known him ever since he was born."

-~-~-~story ends~-~-~-~

Moral of the story, do not impose your 2 cent morality lecture on others. Theres someone greater than each one of us who has borne patiently.

Cheers....

>>>>A master would have detained him..if that was his karma

Well, master to you, God to others, and Nature to someone else. When we start labelling, these becomes beliefs and leads to arguments by the unwise.

And you asked what my point was. Well you wanted to save humans. And since I am an human too, I expressed my opinion to save your self first than worry about others. I don't wish to be rude, but a story didn't make you understand either. Or perhaps its me who didn't express the story well.

Anyway, may you realize you are free , and may we all realize that we are free

Pssst.... Mannu and Lotus: Even though there are a few misunderstanding here... awesome topic!

Good night

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it's queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there's some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Robert Frost

The sun was made for you so that you may see in the day.
The moon was created for you so that you do not stumble in the night.
Everything around you was created for you.
Everything around you works selflessly for you.
And you my friend is worried it will be taken away.
How long do you think you were you here on this planet?
The earth can still sustain life for another million generations.
So my friend why worry if you haven't wronged yourself.

The following statement was written by Krishnamurti himself on October 21, 1980 in which he summarises the teachings. It may be copied and used provided this is done in its entirety. No editing or change of any kind is permitted. No extracts may be used.

quote:

"The core of Krishnamurti's teaching is contained in the statement he made in 1929 when he said: 'Truth is a pathless land'. Man cannot come to it through any organisation, through any creed, through any dogma, priest or ritual, not through any philosophic knowledge or psychological technique. He has to find it through the mirror of relationship, through the understanding of the contents of his own mind, through observation and not through intellectual analysis or introspective dissection. Man has built in himself images as a fence of security - religious, political, personal. These manifest as symbols, ideas, beliefs. The burden of these images dominates man's thinking, his relationships and his daily life. These images are the causes of our problems for they divide man from man. His perception of life is shaped by the concepts already established in his mind. The content of his consciousness is his entire existence. This content is common to all humanity. The individuality is the name, the form and superficial culture he acquires from tradition and environment. The uniqueness of man does not lie in the superficial but in complete freedom from the content of his consciousness, which is common to all mankind. So he is not an individual.

Freedom is not a reaction; freedom is not a choice. It is man's pretence that because he has choice he is free. Freedom is pure observation without direction, without fear of punishment and reward. Freedom is without motive; freedom is not at the end of the evolution of man but lies in the first step of his existence. In observation one begins to discover the lack of freedom. Freedom is found in the choiceless awareness of our daily existence and activity. Thought is time. Thought is born of experience and knowledge which are inseparable from time and the past. Time is the psychological enemy of man. Our action is based on knowledge and therefore time, so man is always a slave to the past. Thought is ever-limited and so we live in constant conflict and struggle. There is no psychological evolution.

When man becomes aware of the movement of his own thoughts he will see the division between the thinker and thought, the observer and the observed, the experiencer and the experience. He will discover that this division is an illusion. Then only is there pure observation which is insight without any shadow of the past or of time. This timeless insight brings about a deep radical mutation in the mind.

Total negation is the essence of the positive. When there is negation of all those things that thought has brought about psychologically, only then is there love, which is compassion and intelligence."
