Does anyone else burn sage and other herbs for prayer? How about the use of tobacco?

I have used sage for clearing mind and environment. The Wiccans use it for clearing as well. Not heard of tobacco used for anything except destroying one's health! IP: Logged |

Hi Justu&me ~ I have used tobacco for smudging... a cleansing prayer of sorts... I used sage up until I became pregnant, it is now the cause of instant headaches. When a smudge is felt needed, I now use tobacco. Personally, I think it is the intention held within the prayer/meditation, not necessarily the material that is burnt while doing so, that is most important. However, as I said, that's a personal opinion and, I am not in 'the know' about any of the actual, ritual-type practices out there. I have even used incense ~ geminstone IP: Logged | |
