A special thank you to Maria Barron, editor of Conscious Evolution's newsletter Metamorphosis, where this article was originally published, for all your helpful suggestions and inspiring encouragement.

(and if you are ever to read this, Maria, never thee mind my usual terrible grammar and sentence structure. )

thanks,Mannu. I hoped you were reading along.

I was wondering,
have you ever had a profound dream about 'the other side'?

Dreamt of flying?

Astral traveled in a dream?

Had what you believe are 'past life dreams'?

And one more thing I'm curious about...do
you often dream you are people other than yourself?

These questions aren't just for Mannu,
but for anyone who'd like to share.

I receive "messages" for other people sometimes in dreams....

Or I tend to have dream sequences which show how people are feeling about each other....like I would know if someone felt love for me or resentment, anger etc.....

I have received three dreams of late for a friend who has been uncertain of a "love interest"....it appears the dreams are quite accurate so far...!! The person appeared to me and after describing them to my friend, the physical description seems dead on!!

My mothers people (the women folk) had prophetic dreams...they would see a death or a birth etc...they were always accurate.

Great thread Lia!

Interesting, Sue... very interesting.

Lia, do you still think you are dreaming, well most of the time? I don't think you are...especially if they are very significant to you. I am also glad you posted this in Universal Codes

Sue and Lia, I will be back to share... I have a lot of work at the moment.

Hi Lia,

Sorry for not getting back earlier. I had problems logging in to LL for some days. Must be my hotel connections. I now fly in every alternate week as the commute is very very taxing.

I have so many unexplained dreams and I'm sure they are from the other side. Most of the answers to those dreams came in the waking state.

I have restrained myself so many times, when ever I was about to leave my body. I'm just afraid of the whole experience and really not ready yet Also the type of work I do does not make me free falling type or free swimming type. I love to go with the flow, thats my attitude. I still go, even when a friend has to go to a show that I won't enjoy. I do get a lot of premonitions though when the persons comes in contact. My predictions have been accurate when said a year before. Someone who checked my palms said that I have Magic hands.

Cheers....

SunChild,
No, no blog or site...I just post things here or there.
Perhaps I'll return soon and post that other dream article soon, though. Thank you for your encouragement and interest.

Sue, I have those kinds of dreams as well.
Mostly seeing into a person's private feelings they don't normally show.
Secret desires, impatiences, miseries of their hearts. Yes, anger and rage as well. Spouses feelings of betrayal and pleadings. Regrets, sorrows, disappointments. I comfort people in dreams...holding them while they cry.
It's strange. When I run into the people in everyday, I feel a sense of awkwardness, like I've invaded something so private, sacred and intimate to them. (of course, beyond my control). A lot of things I dream of are confirmed later. Things I wouldn't have had knowledge of.
Also, I've had prophetic dreams as well.
Met people in dreams before I did in life...dreamt of illness of others that were true...happenings before their time.

I wonder if this is common for Neptunian influenced people to dream of other's emotions. The awake psyhic experiences I have are mostly intune to that sort of sensing as well.

It's such a fantastical mysterious world of sleep.

Silverstone and Mannu,
thank you for posting. I'll return to write more properly when I have more time.

Yes Lia, I understand what you are saying....

I had another dream about my friend's love interest and this time I was talking to her ex who was saying warn him not to trust her, etc etc...oh dear, it can put one in quite a difficult situation at times. And then one has the dilemma will I tell or not!!!

Some of the nicest dreams I ever had is when I am singing at the top of my voice and dancing wildly...I love those. And when I am hugging people and laughing loudly....they are wonderful....

Dream on guys....

Thanks,
That woman standing at the edge of the lake is me - really. I feel at home when I'm out in nature like that. Next time I'm looking out at a vast landscape,I'll be sure to wear a flowing white dress with no underwear.

LOL Kat, I think that effect was strictly for the males. Or a male painted it.

I never remember my dreams. Wish I could. I have to be awakened while I am dreaming for me to remember it. Sometimes when I wake up I am thinking of a certain person so I know I must have dreamed about that person but cannot remember the dream at all.

I go through periods like that, Mirandee, where I don't remember my dreams. Or mostly, I remember vague snippets of them.
And then at other times, I remember wildly, in such intricate detail, night after night.
Our sleep patterns really effect it, I believe. Are you sleeping for long stretches? Waking up a lot?

I haven't been remembering mine as well lately. Although, the other night I do remember one very lucid segment. Lucid, because in that moment I was just so thoroughly awed by my dream surroundings, that I viewed them intently, taking in every detail. That's why it stayed with me...but the rest of the dream I don't remember.

Silverstone,
I believe sometimes I am 'dreaming' and othertimes not. I can usually intuitively tell the difference. But then...who knows? Maybe they aren't 'dreams' persay at all.
I'm still trying to figure these other worlds out. That fragment of dream I mentioned above is a good example of something so brief, which really makes me wonder. I was there, you know?

I dream-shared with a friend a few days ago! I was awed at how deep the soul connection must be, for sharing a dream while being so far away from each other.
We dreamt of the same person and again...the scenario surrounding the person was the same in both our dreams.

Has anyone else ever dream-shared?
I would love to hear any experiences.

Mannu,
glad to hear you'll be getting more breaks betweens travels.
Are you able to get to LL lately?
Your presence is missed here. (or more apt, your 'presents' )

I only had an OBE in my awake state once.
I still don't understand what made the conditions entirely harmonious for such an amazing occurrence.
Funny you should mention fear and not being ready.
In my experience, fear is what brought me down back into my body. I began to feel anxious, and zap! The very instant I had that anxious thought, I returned. As if the very thought was what compelled it. Thought truly does manifest creation....at least so much more intensly in other realms it seems.
Here, there seems a shield that subdues the more profound energy that 'thought/feelings' are truly capable of. We have our hands...our weight as direction.
Beyond there is no barrier...and potential is released in a free flow.

Something becomes all InTune. I'm not sure what that something is, but I hope it happens again someday. I relax and patiently wait.
As when you're ready, your spirit will know.

Would love to hear sometime of those amazing dreams and the confirmations of them you've had afterwards.

Aha...

That's it, I knew it:

quote:

Lia,

You are extremely spiritual. I will reply more properly when I get a chance. There is so much on this subject that I've been wanting to share along with "William Blake on truth". This has been a month for me. My schedule is upside down right now.

Lia, do you ever feel extremely tired when waking up from a so-called dream (when you felt you weren't actually dreaming)? I am curious. How about astral traveling. I think you are getting closer.

I'll be back

Lailei- your article is absolutely beautiful and thought provoking. I would like to add some of my dream experiences to this thread

When I was a baby and a small child (up to the age of four) I lucid dreamt almost every night. I, naturally, did not know that I was 'lucid dreaming' then. All of the dreams were obstacle dreams, and by the age of four I had learned how to master the obstacle and succeed...I would remember(in the dream)that I was dreaming and that I had to change my actions in order to have success. I have not lucid dreamt for quite some time now..

I usually have prophetic dreams over minor things..like if something is wrong with a situation or person intimately linked to me then I will dream about it. Once or twice I have even dreamed the exact sequence and details of an event before they happened. I have a friend who lives in Canada, and I live in the US. I have dreamt about her only when something really bad is going on in her life..no news/baddreams is good news.

Throughout my adolescence and teenage years I have been frequently visited by a spirit guide/soulmate/angel..I am not sure what/who it is, but it is the same presence who visits me. I identify this presence as a young man with long dark hair...he is part of my dreams whenever I am about to go through a very big change (physical or spiritual). And about twice I have been visited by angels, in the form of an elderly african couple. When I was thirteen (and being sexually molested at the time) this couple visited me, or a better way to put it would be to say that they met me..It was not a dream...it was an experience.

The most common dreams I have are always very vivid and intense. Usually the ambiance of a dream will stay with me for a whole day. Very often I dream within my dreams, that is, I 'wake up' into another dream..and sometimes I 'wake up' again into yet another dream! Sometimes when I truely wake up (into earthly reality) it will take up to twenty minutes to ascertain whether or not I am dreaming.

The last phenomena I can think of about dreams is that sometimes if I wake up and have to pee, I astrally travel to the bathroom and go through the motions of peeing and then returning to bed. Usually I will wake up and hour later and realize that my astral body only got up, and that my physical body has yet to relieve itself. The same thing has happened when waking up due to the physical sensation of being thirsty. Again, my astral body goes down stairs and 'gets a drink of water' and about an hour later I wake up because I have yet to physically get the drink of water my body is craving.

this is absolutely fascinating, and I hope that my additions to this topic are of some value

peace!

Lia you have such a beautiful mind, we really are lucky that you post and share with us.

I too share a facination with dreams, perhaps its our neptune conj sun? Regardless, dreams have always held a very spiritual power in my life, and I often question w
hether the waking reality is the true reality.

I really enjoyed your synthesis of religious and philosophical takes on dreams. Here's a few scientific ones off the top of my head...

Scientists still can't come up with a solid explanation of why we sleep, why we dream, and what dreams really are.

Some evolutionary biologists theorize that sleep was a way to keep certain species safe during nighttime hours, where they'd otherwise be bumping into things and hurting themselves. This theory tries to answer the question, why do animals need to be unconscious, and simply not rest?

During sleep the brain undergoes many changes in its patterns of neuronal firing. (neurons go through electrochemical changes to communicate with eachother and the body) You may be familiar with REM sleep, aptly named for the rapid eye movements. This kind of sleep is associated with lucid dreams. The brain here, when analyzed, appears to be awake, it is in a high state of arousal, but impulses to the body are cut off, (atonia) to keep muscles from carrying out our actions in our dreams.

Some evidence indicates that certain neurometabolic processes are accomplished during sleep. Refreshing and renewing certain brain chemicals.

Other evidence indicates that our memories are consolidated in sleep, which would explain why babies sleep much more than adults, because they are learning more.

One thing is certian, humans need to sleep, and they need to dream, or they die. Dream sleep is especially important, people who are sleep deprived badly will instantly fall into REM (lucid dream) sleep instead of going through a normal sleep stage process.

Some people say that dreams are just random, others say that they have immense spiritual and psychic indications. THe idea that Einsteins dream has shaped our reality is amazing, and not surprisingly he was a pisces. If dreams can affect the waking reality, let us hope that more of us dream of a tolerant and loving world.

PS I love observing how your mind works, I feel its similar to mine, in that with your philosophical questioning and probing, you end up with more questions than you started with!

Well you know lia 99% of the dreams I have are esoteric in that I have difficulty in attributing them to anything happening in mi real life.
In fact it’s been long time since the first time I dismissed such a dream. Now I don’t even seem to care. In fact Lia the dream I had yesterday night was an esoteric one too.

Now let me tell you of some dreams I believe we all have. I was in tenth standard. I was 15. We had “circles” in our mathematics syllabus. I am a Taurean so I studied that chapter with the thoroughness of a fixed sign. So that night I started to dream things “in terms of” circles. Like people and events would swim before my eyes and correspondingly the chords in the circle would change. (A chord is any straight line joining 2 points on the circumference of a circle.)

Well do say a word about Freud’s book “The Interpretation of Dreams” any of you.

Well I do long to interpret my dreams because I think they are worth it!

Well I read your complete post Lia, and patiently at that.

well when I was in school there was this gal i would talk to her everyday in the school bus for we would go together from home to school .. it was a one hour journey.. and in the night again I would talk to her but in my dreams.
So I wrote this:

I tell others and in fact I do,
Live in a practical world,
True as it seems she lies deep,
Deep somewhere in my soul,
And surfaces in my dreams.

I don’t even think about her before going to sleep,
But there she is- there we are.. in the bus.. together,
A lingering melody as it is,
To be with her,
To talk to her,
I wish I could sleep forever.

i mean that world where we meet would seem so very real! when i sometimes awake i regret it oh y did i awake! infact in mi dreaming sometimes i would do or won't do certain things that would prove to me that its a dream. like say i would not ask a particular person a particular question whose answer I would not know. (For how would that person know something i wouldn since i am the creator of d dream.)

What a nice surprise. Thank you, I so much appreciate your posts.
Just what, and even more, than I hoped for.

themysteryclub,
wow...you remember your toddler dreams?
That blows my mind! I'm so glad you shared your amazing dream experiences.

BlueRoamer,
thank you for that dream information and for your blushing-inducing kindnesses. (ha-got me again)
There's an article from Discovery magazine that covers some of the very things you mentioned, and I've been hoping to post it, but for now misplaced the mag!
Will keep looking.
Yes, always more and more questions!
Reminds me of the buddhist story of a man who searched and searched for God, to one day come to a house, which said "the House of God". He had hoped and prayed all of his life so earnestly to find God...

...but when that moment came, instead of knocking on the door as he would have always expected he would, he turned around and walked away. He realized it wasn't the final desination of God that he had been hoping for...it was the journey towards God that inspired him ever onwards.

guy_me_19,
thank you for sharing. that was beautiful.

I'm sorry my time is limited at the moment.
Was at the hospital today with my daughter. (pnemonia).
I'll return soon, to reply in a better way to all of you.
