Cool. I've been thinking about the healing properties of music and sound for a while. I wonder why they left out the sharps and flats, except f sharp?I find that flat and sharp keys have highly different qualities. IP: Logged |

hello Blue ~ wow, you know a lot about this...i don't know about the keys. i like the idea of tones... it would be nice if you'd share more about how music effects healing...how the keys work, etc...? have you practiced this? certain music has a profound healing effect on me...but i'd love to know more about the specific application for healing individual issues. the person in the prahna website has a current focus on healing cancer with music. music that has a palpable healing effect for me is sinead o'connor's music... love 'n light, naiad IP: Logged |

I don't wanna give TOO much away, some of my future reasearch ideas are based on sound therapy.Different keys definitely have different qualities. I find that tones do not, which is why I find this site's assigning of emotional qualities to tones to be rather arbitrary. Any physical object has a resonant frequency, which is how sounds gets through air to your brain, it resonates a certain part of your inner ear... Minor keys have a sad sound, major keys have a happy/bright sound. Flat keys are more mellow and full, sharp keys are more bright and hollow. Every key has a different quality, at least musicians will claim. C major is very bright, open, twinkly. E flat major is proud and lush. Different musicians might disagree completely but many I've known feel the same way about keys. I think for sound to be therapeutic the listener must like the sound of it. Some people actually find heavy metal therapeutic. Shocking no? I think theres been research on destroying cancer cells with intense low frequency sound.... yep http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2004/02/16/1076779876617.html?from=storyrhs

this is such an excellent reply Blue Roamer...thank you. i didn't realize this was a specialized area for you. the future of healing seems so vast. this is my greatest interest...ever since acquiring my first linda goodman book in 1996. i loved what she said about the correspondence between colors and frequencies. i thought the chart on the prahna site was similar to her information. anyway, you are very advanced in this subject....i love how you described the various keys and their personalities. i hope that you will share more, what you can, of this topic in the future. do you do any therapy with aura healing? love 'n light...
