to make a very long story short, i first read "star signs" when i was 14, and i am 24 now. since the first time i read the glorious words that Linda wrote, i was enthralled, enchanted, excited, and VERY impatient for my personal Gurus. my question is, ten years later, does one KNOW when they have met one of their Gurus? i mean, do they make it blatantly obvious to the student? i've read the book a million times, and i have had strange encounters with "odd" people, but i have never been aware at the time that this was a message from "somewhere else." Stranger still, my horoscope in the local paper today talked ALL about how i am about to meet personal Gurus or teachers!!! i have been broadcasting my message into the ethers for ten years, and along the way have met many people whose intentions were not in the least way for my benefit, only for themselves. Can "bad" people intercept these mind messages of mine, or has everything awful been merely test upon test of my worthiness to be taught?? i suppose it could all be bad karma, but really, my whole life has been about caring about others so much that it is ruining MY life. every new thing that comes along, i accept as something i must deserve or it wouldn't be happening, but really...how bad WAS i in past incarnations?? it is so strange how one person you meet, or one event that happens, can change the whole course of your life, and when that happens much too much you don't even trust your inner S-elf to make the right choice, as all the others have not been the right ones. has anyone else been through much adversity, and had something happen to change it all, like the appearance of your Guru or some decision you made that chaged it all?? i need to know it's not only me that seems they don't know themself anymore.IP: Logged |

They always say that when the student is ready the teacher will come.I think that one has to be at a very stable place to attract a teacher. Caring about others is very important, but if it is causing you undue suffering than you must care for yourself as well. You sound like a very earnest soul and I'm sure that your compassion and care doesn't go unnoticed. IP: Logged |

Yes, that really is a tough one. Have you read the "Conversations with God" series or "The Celestine Prophecy" or even try "Ishmael". Books have there uses, but I would feel lax if I left my response at that. When I read "Star Signs", it was on my 22nd birthday and was a present. Two days later I met both Avatars who I continued to meet at various times and locations "out of the blue" when I seemed to have questions or insecurities. The last time I met the busker one (the other one I call the fruit man) he basically made me realise that life is all about give and take. That I was teaching him as much as he taught me, and that you know what you know. Put simply (maybe oversimply) you are what you truly desire. Maybe you have a block that is preventing your signals or you antenna receiving signals. I feel that you are wanting this so much that its quite possible you wouldn't allow it to happen when it does. You need to be subtle. Act blase. It might sneak up on you when you least expect. Karma isn't necessarily about what you've gone through, but what at what stage you want to experience now - what you are attracting. You see, the more you want, the more you will want. Have. Be. This sounds so corny, and its like explaining something that no one really knows completely, but we kNow intrinsically. I love this quote: quote: Don't be a person wanting, but be a Human Being
(paraphrased from CWG) Let us know how you go. Otherwise you could head over to Oranges and Hyacinths and ask daf five questions Heaps of Love, Dean. ------------------ I realized it for the first time in my life: there is nothing but mystery in the world, how it hides behind the fabric of our poor, browbeat days, shining brightly, and we don't even know it.
