It was recommended to me today that I read the Book of Job. I still haven't read it, but I know what it's about... Job's trials, where Satan is given permission by God to wreak havoc on his life so that he can be tested. Bad things happening to a good person. I guess it's like a test of faith and a lesson in perseverance. First thing I thought this afternoon was, "was Job having his second Saturn return?". I don't know how old he was, so maybe, maybe not. I'm seeing a weird correlation though between Satan and Saturn. I have heard of them being linked before, though I'm not saying that they are one and the same. But it seems to me that in the Book of Job, Satan is performing a role that we might think of as being linked with Saturn. When Saturn hits it certainly does feel as though "Satan" is involved. What do you think? IP: Logged |

Yes, Saturn teaches us perseverance. I think Job was very old in the story, certainly more than 28.5 years the cycle time of Saturn. I am not sure how Job ended in the bible too.
Bible is really a collection of books. IP: Logged |

I've thought a lot and written a lot about the book of job. It is wonderful. I believe, the ultimate theme is, "God does all things, the good and the bad, and it is nobodies fault if they are righteous or if they are wicked, and destruction comes to everyone in the end, so, you better make your peace with God, because He is God, and, after all, what choice have you got? I mean, are you going to whine about it for the rest of your short life, or get on with the business of living?" That, and, also, "Nevertheless, it is better to have seen suffering, and asked "Why, God?", than to have judged people, and made excuses for God,". Those are the main points.I know Jung has a book on it.

Thanks for the thoughts... I'm interested in Jung's interpretation, I'll have to try to get a copy of that. IP: Logged | |
