What is the need/importance of repeatedly readings of holy books by an individual?

Its for people who sit at home or wherever and want their mind to walk than to run

Does it mean that it is just that you are diverting your mind.
Because re-reading what's already read,is not bringing any interest to me. Just like listening same songs, once in a while to repeat is okay, but everyday listening to same song, I don't enjoy.

Mind is the least understood part of our being. The eastern mystics will tell us to empty our mind and realize the empty space within us.

The mind is constantly running here and there. For example while driving next time, look at the neighbor car. The person would have stereo on, talk on his cell phone, drink coffee with one hand and other is on his steering wheel. Hehehe...

That is what our mind is when we do any activity. Its running here and there always.

So when we chat verses from holy books, we are not diverting, but getting all our focus on the words. Instead of running our mind is walking

It is but natural to be bored listening to same song daily. But people who have tamed their mind, do not get bored easily with the same things given to them from existence. For example music comes from tape/cd, its manmade. So its ok to be bored Where as our daily food, for example lets take wheat bread. Don't we thank existence, with what it has provided us? I mean atleast eastern Masters and many throughout the world who are spiritual express gratitude that way. Every meal should be considered as new from nature, even though its the same.
