I had recently been to this exhibit. Its on till september 30th in philadelphia. I was fascinated with the treasures of the king that must be atleast 3000 years old. How intact most of the things still were. How skilled the people were in that golden era.

King Tut's birth is also considered very significant for mankind just as the birth of Jesus is or other great men in different cultures.

I had so many clicks during the exhibit.

Thought I will share

The mummy and coffins of the king are in Cairo I believe. Whats on display in the museum are still worth watching. Even the IMAX movie experience was great !!!!

I went to the King Tut exhibit last year when it was at the Fields Museum in Chicago, and what a magnificent exhibit it was!! I really did enjoy it; I don't remember an IMAX movie though, unless you're talking about an unrelated movie on ancient Egypt that came out like 4 years ago.

Sunshine

I liked this reconstruction, and took a picture by it when I was there:

hi sunshine, wonderful. That modern statue of Tut seems so intense when we are standing face to face isn't it?

i was thrilled to also see a statue of Nefertitis (they say as is) in that exhibition.....

The movie was titled "Mysteries of the pharoahs' narrated by Omar Sharif. It was interesting but short. There was one guy who walked out because he may have felt dizzy with that IMAX experience. It happens. Reminded me of the struggles that one goes thru after death. Watching movie and seeing events play out in front of you is similar albeit more intense. ....I held back my tears.....

Lialei, my mom was not with me in philly that week. I wish she cud have seen it too. Perhaps she will get a chance as I might ask another friend if she is interested.

Happy big labor day weekend.
