It has been said the the veil between worlds progressivley thins at this time of the year, coming to the thinnest on Hallow's Eve...Has anyone experienced this? Recently the resident entity in my home is more vibrant, my dog who I had to bury a few weeks ago never really left and I saw a spirit dog while driving to work early yesterday morn. For my 10/31 celebration, I intend to invite a few ancestors who are in spirit, my cat and my dog, tho the dog is already here! Any experiences with this time of the year and increased sensitivities/sightings, etc.? IP: Logged |

yes, last year especially. I read somewhere that the Merc retrograde helped give that thinning veil some oomph (last year) and extended it into November. All I know was my house was crowded for a few weeks, love my departed loved ones but damn...IP: Logged |

Whenever Halloween comes around, funny things always start to happen in my experience. I see a lot of things in the corners of my eyes, flashes of sudden light in the air, people that appear and then are gone when I turn a few seconds later to look back and other strange phenomena. I don't know if the veil does thin, but I have read that the Soul receives great energy this time of the year as the Sun wanes in its power. This power is supposedly inverted from our external environment into our internal being. Rudolf Steiner expresses this in some of the poems from Calendar of the Soul. quote: When to my being's depths I penetrate, There stirs expectant longing That self-observing, I may find myself As gift of summer sun, a seed That warming lives in autumn mood As germinating force of soul.

The veil is getting thinner...Hallowe'en Time! In folk tales, All Hallows' Eve is known as the time when ghosts and spirits walk the earth. In real life, I reintroduce myself to spiced tea and hot chocolate as I feel the rest of the world start to cuddle into the cold half of the year. Even the most cynical among us will admit that there is something a little special, a little unusual, and a little bit magical in the air at Halloween time. The ancient Celts marked Halloween as their New Year and their festival of the dead. The Celts understood that in late October, the veil that separates this world from the next grows very thin. Almost anything was possible in the in-between space separating one year from another. Think of the chaos in high school corridors between classes and you'll see what they were getting at. Because of this time-outside-of-time feeling, Tarot readers and other intuitives have always regarded the months of October and November as one of the most powerful times to practice their art. Just as one's view of the stars will sharpen when it's particularly dark and cold outside, so does one's inner vision clarify as the days begin to grow darker. ~ Anna Murphy (Tarot Reader)

The morns are meeker than they were, The nuts are getting brown; The berry’s cheek is plumper, The rose is out of town. The maple wears a gayer scarf, The field a scarlet gown. Lest I should be old-fashioned, I’ll put a trinket on. -EMILY DICKINSON
