Topic: Picking up on others' energies

You know how you can just *know* if someone is really ****** off without them saying/doing anything? When they walk in the room, the atmosphere shifts..the mood changes. Do you think that if a person is experiencing an emotion very strongly, that others near them who are perceptive enough can pick up/tune in to that feeling as well? Some examples... If you are feeling an animal magnetism/lust toward someone you are near, and they are particularly perceptive, do you think they would feel that too (even if they do not understand why)? If you are near someone who makes you very uncomfortable, do you think they can pick up and sense your discomfort/fear? I have always believed this to be true, not sure why..but when I brought it up to a friend today he didn't think so at all. I really think that human beings are MUCH more perceptive/receptive to psychic energy than we give ourselves credit for. What do you think? ------------------

augentier,We are connected at various levels. Physical, Mental, Astral etc. Illusions makes us feel less connected at physical. At the mental we are more connected than physical...so on and so forth. IP: Logged |

Alright, so let's say I have this certain person on my mind all the time, and it produces very strong feelings in me. You think that person is able to sense that, or be thinking of me, too, as a result of MY thinking?------------------

Yes, I agree with what you wrote.It mentions something about how auras interact when someone is attracted to someone in the Celestine Prophecy too. It good to be able to shut down telepathy/ empathy at some level though, or we would always be worried about what others think of us!  IP: Logged |

That's a big problem I have...I am constantly aware of how I feel around others, and I take note of others' behavior/expressions/vibes/whatever .. I tend to think (to the point of being paranoid and awkward) that others are sensing the same thing about me. *runs back to the loony bin* ------------------

I can remember feeling like that as a child. Not so bad now though.One can learn to control it- whatever people think/ feel doesn't matter anyway. Just focus on the positive, etc. "All you need is love". In the Celestine Prophecy, it also mentions how to appreciate the beauty of another being- such as a person, flower, or tree- gives the being energy to radiate even more beauty. I think it's true. As one of the characters says in the film "Amelie"-

Oooh I like this thread! so true  I can remember one episode in particular where I've experienced this very strongly. I was hanging out with two friends of mine, when I left them for 10 min to buy myself something at a store. As I returned to them, I said the thing that immediately came to mind; "why are you fighting??". I hadn't even heard them speak a word to eachother (there wasn't really much time to as I ---> ) I just popped up and asked them the question. They were so puzzled, because they were actually fighting  really mad at eachother... haha. I wonder if I noticed it straight away because they're my close friends and I'm used to their... I don't know, energy or something?  Or would I know if they were strangers to me aswell?IP: Logged |

When i feel intensely i get very large. i get attention wherever i go it is like all eyes on me anyway. actually i had been told of this but never realized it until lately. Sometimes I get that dizzy-awkward-vertigo weirdness awareness like Big Alice (in Wonderland). Yes, people pick up on many levels and some can use and abuse and some can conquer and teach.
I have daydreams of intensity sometimes and wonder if the other person feels the vibes-

I had a free Reiki session once.....I was (slightly) embarrassed when the healer (female, thank God) mentioned I seemed to have a lot going on in my lower chakras....... She said it was probably because I'd not long had a baby, but I know the real reason... (I have a certain something on the brain....all day).  Anyway....I think we do pick up on other people's energies. It's all to do with the chakras. IP: Logged |

Chakras, huh? I never took the idea of them seriously until I read something here that mentioned a feeling in your heart chakra if someone is feeling strongly about you (or something like that)...and I noticed that when I have these intense daydreams/fantasies about a certain someone, they come on instantly and it's a very heavy feeling..in my chest and the lower region lol...interesting. i WANT to "send" these vibes to him..i want him to feel the fantasy too  but then i wonder, am i the one receiving the message? either way ..i like it ------------------

AugWith time and self-study you will come to know if you are recieving and who from... I have found, tho, to be the most clear you must rid yourself of the energies accumulated throughout the day in your business of life. I pick up on so much that people dish out and tend to make my own, and have to conciously shield myself and rid myself of these energies each and every night before I go to sleep, or else, they will become my own and unfornuately since soicety is largely negative, it is usually negative energy that I bring home with me. I feel so blessed on rare occasion, when I have spent time with a spiritually uplifting individual that I can actually dwell and swim in the positive energy of the individual...a rare occasion to be sure, and I choose my friends carefully!!! Tho in my line of work, an ICU RN, I am often exposed to crap that I did not ask for, hence I have learned how to recognize what is mine and what I MUST release. IP: Logged |
