I feel that we are conditioned by our mind/ body complexes. I feel that we are all spirit; infinite consciousness, which has become entrapped within the flesh (how/ why this occurred is another story, Edgar Cayce and others have provided some information about it).

Now, once we have become caught up within this kamic(?) cycle of the flesh, our consciousness becomes restricted by its illusions and by the distortions of the body, including its biology, brain chemistry and the "mind programming" of a person's experiences.

The Law of Cause and Effect,
or Unified Field Theory

Some people like to believe that whatever happens to an individual being is entirely the result of the choices made by its own free will. Does this include animals, I wonder. Who knows. I don't know what good reason, if any, would explain, for example, why a spirit should have to reincarnate into an animal that gets tortured in the HELL-HOLE of an abimal testing laboratory......

Personally, I believe that there is no good reason for such suffering.

We are simply caught up in "the matrix" and all we have left to do, once we realize this, is empower ourselves through wisdom, and do our best to make changes to liberate others.

So.....
I am going to offer a Librain perspective on the matter of free will (the idea that there is none UNTIL we become more fully awakened) and this law of cause an affect.

What if both are true?

What if all that happens to us is the result of our actions.....except we cannot gain control of our own lives until we wake up, therefore, we are innocent in our ignorance?

Sometimes I feel so passionate about all this I feel, if only I could only help as many others as possible too see things differently.

I feel that there would be so much love, compassion, forgiveness and understanding as a result.

Jesus (who I believe did live, despite what movies like Zeitgeist say, which has a lot of holes in, he was a true Master who's message however became distorted to suit the plans of the Elite)......Jesus, from the basic teachings of his in the Bible, had so much unconditional love for everyone. I sometimes wonder if he saw things in a similar way.

Infinite love......is the only truth

Also, the following link HSC posted in another thread helps to explain some of this in other words:

"To err is human, to forgive divine"
~Alexander Pope

"It's just a ride & we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings & money, a choice, right now, between fear & love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your door, buy guns, close yourself off, the eyes of love instead see all of us as one".....

My favourite quote:

"A human being is a part of the whole, called by us Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest-a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty."

~Albert Einstein.

P.S. Sorry about my bad grammar, knowflakes. I ought to have called this thread "lack of free will vs law of cause an effect". I'll blame that on my lack of free will regarding aspects between my Mercury and Saturn in my chart.

You arent saying anything new, but you are onto the truth.

The only truly free will would be The Will of God;
a self-aware, purposeful will encompassing all that exists,
as well as all that potentially might exist.

All other, lesser wills are only "free" in a relative sense.

To the degree that we live in perfect accordance with higher and higher laws,
we experience a wisdom, peace, and power which may fairly be called "freedom".

The planets are believed by some to be conscious entities, far more evolved than humans...

According to this way of seeing, the planets themselves are gods,
exerting an influence upon humans, and other beings,
according to the extent and nature of their power...

We who experience freedom here on earth are, in a sense, favored by the gods.

But as we evolve and become gods in our own right we will answer to even higher gods.

So it is all relative.
The big fish in the small pond,
becomes "small" when he finds himself in the big sea.
"The first shall be last and the last shall be first."

We may feel more in tune with the universe as we evolve to higher states,
but the degree of our responsibility increases in ratio to our freedom.

The difference is that, at the higher levels, the ego is sacrificed.

The will is experienced as free and flowing, yet highly responsible,
because it has been sacrificed to, and aligned with, the highest imaginable ideals.

So, in a sense, we do not become bigger and bigger, but smaller and smaller,
while it is the proverbial "pond" that becomes bigger and bigger.

Or something.

I think.

Nothing is old or new, but can be portrayed in an infinite number of ways.

Thank you for explaining, HSC.

I can see what you've been trying to explain for a while, a lot clearer now.
