In a Native American parable, the Creator gathers all the animals and says: "I want to hide something from the humans until they are ready for it- the realization that they create their own reality".

"Give it to me. I'll fly it to the Moon",
says the eagle.

"No, one day soon they will go there and find it".

"How about the bottom of the ocean?"
asks the salmon.

"No, they will find it there too".

"I will bury it in the great plains",
says the buffalo.

"They will soon dig and find it there".

"Put it inside them", says the wise grandmother mole.

"Done", says the Creator. "It is the last place they will look".

One of my favorites.

I recall telling this to a group of people during a camping trip, they enjoyed it.

In the version I'm familiar with it was the key to inner peace.

hi, i have been looking at this site for a while now - cos i love linda's books and have read them since i was 12 - still on gooberz - and i still always refer back to them

i wanted to say thank you so much to listentotrees for such wonderful information - thats why i joined - to say thank you so much - i copy and forward your posts to some of my friends and they love them!

i read a poem that you put on just now that made me feel like crying - the one starting with Wisdom is knowing how little we know - about feeling alone ...- i find myself feeling alone sometimes - like for instance when i refuse to go to barbecues - my best friend has just stopped talking to me properly cos im vegetarian and didnt want to go to her barbecue - i declined cos i dont like the smell of roasting flesh - but they dont really understand ... and said we'll put a potato on the grill for you - not the point!

sounds quite funny when i post it

i really like silverstones stuff too

keep up the good work - and thank you xxx

SimpleMe, I do understand what you are saying.

Some of the spiritual concepts (which both ancient and modern teachers have tried to put into words) have also left me feeling a little confused/ unsure of myself at times, not so long ago.

But several things since have triggered deeper awareness, I feel, of what it all really means.

It is not that we don't need to do anything any more or strive for anything- far from it.

We are infinite awareness, a part of this infinite, endless symphony which is creation. We are creators.

For me, reading the story by Melen Thomas http://www.mellen-thomas.com/stories.htm
about his near death experience, and a few other things- like listening to music, reading words of inspiration, looking at these incredible, perfectly formed geometric patterns known as crop circles....together these things helped trigger an understanding, a memory, within.

The truth
is a brilliant, many-sided diamond.
The great life fills this gem and colors from every side.
Mystics, messengers, and sages and teachers of all ages, races and beliefs have spoken of a different face of this common Eternal Truth.

Thankyou ListentoTrees

oh.. its not that. its like i became grounded
so much that i feel too stable. No miracles happen anymore. i know that it should be found within. But when i think back to my most unstable times i remeber so many inspiring things were happening. Now life is beautiful but too quiet, too predictable.

Thankyou for the video. i liked it.

Love
Elena
