Does anyone have any experiences with dowsing?I've tried it a few times lately, but have been wondering whether it may be possible that the subconscious mind might influence dowsing. Is dowsing a reliable form of divination, or merely a way to communicate with one's own subconscious mind? I was wondering whether anyone here has experience, and any experiences to share. I have also been wondering whether our subconscious minds might effect our auric energies or whatever to influence the answers one may receive from dowsing. Any thoughts? IP: Logged |

By the way, I am referring to dowsing with a pendulum. IP: Logged |

My experiences with a pendulum are proving to be very accurate. I think if it works for you , you can rely on it but i don't think it works for all. I don't know what the differentiating factor is though.IP: Logged |

Ok, I've been experimenting with my dowsing pendulum tonight after tuning into my Higher Self (safeguarding against any negativity) and I have discovered that the pendulum is influenced by my own thoughts. Whether or not this is because I am subconsciously making the pendulum swing in a direction through extremely subtle movements in my hand.....or through some sort of energy coming through my hand....I'm not sure. In any case, for me personally, this pretty much invalidates a dowsing pendulum as being reliable or accurate. Picture I found on google images of a dowsing pendulum: Dowsing rods, on the other hand, I do believe in, as they have proved to work from ancient times. (Dowsing rods are those sticks people use to find water, just in case anybody didn't already know). Another picture I found, dowsing rods: ` IP: Logged |

Question:If a dowsing pendulum's movements are influenced by my subconscious, then is it simply a means of tuning into our own selves? If this is the case, then I guess if we are in a doubtful state of mind rather than tuned into our Higher Selves, then wouldn't it be during these times that the information we receive might be inaccurate? If the information we receive from the pendulum proves to be accurate when it comes from the right place, then couldn't we simply consult our Higher Selves as a more reliable source, than use a tool like the dowsing pendulum? Thought this was interesting. I found this whilst trying to find out whether the town I grew up in was built on ley lines (and it probably was, as it contains "ley" in its actual name....and Wotton-Under-Edge nearby is supposedly whether many ley lines meet and cross (a very haunted place....borrowed a dvd from the library where someone from the "Most Haunted" interviewed people from haunted places in Gloucestershire and the man from the "Ram In" in Wotton-Under-Edge said there had been evil goings on there. quote: SignalPeter believes that divining rods amplify tiny, imperceptible movements within the hand of the dowser. "There is no signal which is moving the rods," he said. "It's the hands that are doing the movement. The sensor is you, picking up information and passing the signal to the muscular part of your nerves."
