So I do alot of deep thinking about the Universe, God, afterlife, etc. Yep same as you and I've been thinking about the following.

If life is impermanent that means our body will decay after death. Our ego also impermanent will cease to exist. Do we fully understand and acknowledge where our ego ends and spirit begins.?

Bang!Bang! I've been shot in the head and now I'm in the hospital --- i cannot talk, reason, walk, my abilities are gone, my memories -- nothing, I'm one of those contorted vegtables that smiles and drools. I'm 45 but rendered to a 2 year only.maybe 2. where did I go?

If our ego is made up of our body, our judgements and anything attached to the impermanence of our body that includes our intellect, our skills, our sexuality, our beliefs and attitudes, a whole lot!!!!!!! let's face it men and women are different in skills, emotions, thought processes, etc. therefore that is impermanent as well since there is separation. We spend most(almost all) of our lives judging this and that is good, bad, right, wrong. We agree and disagree to something. We come from fear more than love. If something good happens there is usually this other flip side trying to chime in. So if we live so inauthentically near all of the time and if we have some medical tragity happen. What are we left with?????

We are told we a spiritual beings having a human experience, but we live and die as little people consuming everything in sight. But then some say if you believe in Jesus you will be saved. Don't believe in Jesus and your condemned to hell. others say you will be reincarnated til you get it right. some say there is no God and the result of being shot in the head and surviving proves it. Everyone has their opinions.

So where did you go?

So I though about this and came up with some answers and was wondering if you came up with the same or similar. Please feel free to challenge these ideas. I'll post my opinions in the next separate response. Maybe you could write yours then read mine and tell me what you think.

I spent the beginning of this year questioning if God existed and now have the following ideas that I'm sorting through.

-God is not a deity with emotions, thoughts, feelings and other human traits that we have projected onto "him." God is a massively expansive universal "energy" creative, expansive source that is absolutely everywhere inside, outside through everything. We can cry out in pain and will not be heard by this Universe since it is not of this nature.Only a person who is in touch with this source connected to all there is be attracted/drawn to you and give you compassion. You can only get compassion by being connected to this source and draw what you need to you.

-If we choose to turn away from living a higher life and only come from ego we will not connect to the source and will not have the potential of living an authentic life. Therefore when we die we will have only lived a shell of a life and will just cease to exist!!!!! if we make attempts to connect to source then the energy flows through us and is inalignment because we are at a higher vibrational level. so when we make our transition, the aspects of our life that were lived in love, and allowed "the light to shine through" connect to that source and live permanently by reconnecting to the "Oneness" of source. The other aspects fall away - dead. If our spirits are like a drop of water from the ocean and when we pass that drop reunites to the ocean. The wheat (spirit) and separated from the Shaft( humanity, ego) It is that concept that has led me to no longer believe in reincarnation because be are born into human life surrounded by - in and through spirit. if our life is totally of ego and we have never connected with spirit when we die we just fall away and another life is born with the potential of connecting to spirit or being given only a great gift of life on this beautiful planet. This is a fabulous life, truly incredible. It is a gift in itself. We can choose to make it wonderful and magnificent. Some of us or maybe part of us will just cease to exist at the end of our lives and some will live lives at high vibrational levels and connect to source allowing it to freely flow through us. Either way life it a reverent gift. Spirit continues on flowing through everything and only waits for us to choose to live through it.

I think there is a fine line between atheisism and my point. The difference is that what the atheists call energy, I believe that there is a expansive creative concsiousness that interconnects us all. We have the choice to be in alignment with the Universe and each other and live a higher more permanent life or just exist the days we have here.

(I hope I got my point through clearly; it's difficult to explain and easy to misinterpret.)

thoughts please

Yep. I truly feel that our inner life becomes our outer existence in the spiritual. (after death)
And if our "inner" life was so superficial then we would most likely experience a dimming of the consciousness before our next birth?
