to my understanding, it's a group of people who use their positions in the world to influence it in their favor. to what extent? and with what means? i studied politics at university hoping to learn how we could create a society that would be beneficial to everyone. history shows how people tried and failed to do something very constructive. however it also shows that things could have evolved differently if only their had been a real political desire. some people suspect that this is the case as the result of the deliberate actions of this group.
