Let's say I was running away from a gunman, and while I was running he shoots me, killing me instantly. Since I was killed instantly (my body drops to the ground), do you think my soul would keep running-like a chicken with its head cut off?

If it was sudden, no awareness at all of the shot, yes, one can keep running until they realize no one is chasing them, and or they look and see their body.

Thanks for responding Lexx and Katatonic. I wonder if I'd try to jump back into my body, or if I'd see the light, or my Guide would interceed.

Or perhaps you merge into the oneness of all instantly, so nothing else matters? I like the idea that you are somehow "required" to appear whenever anyone thinks about you after you're gone. It makes me think, if you reincarnated, would a part of you still appear to that person that was currently thinking about you? Perhaps these experiences may be linked to Dreams and Da ja vus? I read recently that Dreams may be linked to increased magnetic activity, which I think makes sense. All bodies have electro magnetic forces applied.

Interesting question!
