Indeed, Hargrave Jennings expresses this danger and trial in a successful way concerning the Rosicrucians:
“They mingle most gracefully in the society of women, with hearts wholly incapable of softness in this direction; while they criticize them with pity or contempt in their own minds as altogether another order of beings from men.”
I guess so! Buddha was the same way. It’s intriguing how this happens-hypocrisy at it’s most potent. And it’s true: we all have to face the lower part of ourselves, especially as occultists. Once the path is consciously started , there’s no going back.
