I read The Bourne Identity and it shook me thoroughly.

It is a story of a man who knows that he does not remember his life only fragments here and there. He is essentially investigating his own life. "Why am I here?" "How do I know to handle guns?" Like that. He is finding out his own past.

There is a Jason Bourne in every one of us.

Our only real precious possession is our memories. Some may say Karma is the only thing we take with us but Karma is a consequence of memories. We take our memories with us. Deep within we have memories of hatred, revenge, anger, love, hope, gratefulness and all of these contribute to the existence of Karma. We are not sure who we were and this disturbance is eternally present in those who haven't remembered their past lives. Unknowingly, unconsciously our past life powerfully influence our daily life decisions and they are the major underlying source of our troubles as well as happiness.

Ultimately everyone must realize that we are fighting life like Bourne does. Who we were led to who we are and will lead to who we will be and we are acutely aware of this. The Pity is we have no (conscious) memory of what happened in the past (life).

And this threatens us.

Some people try to rationalize away this fear and this decision may well be influenced by something that happened in their past (life). The truth is our memories never never leave us. It is there - all the time. There is no way to rationalize that they don't exist - because we are composed of those memories - and denying their existence means fragmenting ourselves - denying a portion of ourselves - leading to a repression that extends life long.

Some may argue we are not supposed to remember out past (life). But I believe the truth is the contrary. There is a Jason Bourne inside us who is searching for truth, the life within us that we can see only fragments which we think is a fantasy, a metaphor or a creative visualisation or a good poem.

We are all searching Truth. Truth is very personal. It is about our precious past that we are forbidden to remember. When Jesus said "Seek Truth and Truth shall set you free" may be he was talking about the memories ever boiling in the subconscious mind.

------------

I know who I am: I am a mystery.
