Does everything happen for a reason?Every Single Thing? Every Little Thing? There are no "accidents"? There are no "coincidences"? Every single thing that ever happens is meant to be? Real curious to your replies. Thanks! IP: Logged |

"There are no accidents, every event has a meaning and purpose" ~ Randall. What about stubbing your toe? Does that have a meaning and purpose? Is this your train of thought Nephthys? I knew someone who had a real knack for reading into lame events like that to SEE the meaning. It was cool for a while, then it became annoying. I couldn't bang my elbow or trip over without knowing why. LOL My mother was once admiring her own beauty in the mirror, a little too much vanity, so something fell from the shelf and smashed a hole in her 'vanity basin' .... that had meaning and purpose, for the conscious. For the unconscious folk I suppose most things are meaningless and random. If you read "IMAGINING THE TENTH DIMENSION"... when you get to the chapter of the "Fifth dimension", it makes everything make sense! I recommend that book. It makes you come to that awareness yourself while reading it. Check it out on Youtube Nepththys, some good videos on it. I am led to believe that yes, every little thing does having meaning and purpose based on my experience and perception, maybe I want to believe that? But I have good reason to. LTT

Hi Sunchild,Thanks for that descriptive reply!!!! GOSH I wish I knew about that book at the beginning of Summer but school is starting now so I won't have time to read it!!! Well personally I wasn't thinking of stubbing your toe, but when things like that do happen, I do think to myself, "maybe I was thinking a negative thought just then?"......... I like your statement here: For the unconscious folk I suppose most things are meaningless and random I never knew Randall said that. Cool!!! IP: Logged |

Words-adapted from the bible, book of ecclesiastes Music-pete seegerMusic by The Byrds "To everything (turn, turn, turn) There is a season (turn, turn, turn) And a time for every purpose, under heaven A time to be born, a time to die A time to plant, a time to reap A time to kill, a time to heal A time to laugh, a time to weep To everything (turn, turn, turn) There is a season (turn, turn, turn) And a time for every purpose, under heaven A time to build up,a time to break down A time to dance, a time to mourn A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together To everything (turn, turn, turn) There is a season (turn, turn, turn) And a time for every purpose, under heaven A time of love, a time of hate A time of war, a time of peace A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing To everything (turn, turn, turn) There is a season (turn, turn, turn) And a time for every purpose, under heaven A time to gain, a time to lose A time to rend, a time to sew A time to love, a time to hate A time for peace, I swear its not too late" IP: Logged |

I don't feel that every little thing happens for a reason, but most things, yes.For example, most people are my teachers and probably I am theirs too...but most of my important lessons have taught me patience (raising my son), understanding and respecting others' points of view, tolerance and many others. Sometimes too, events can happen to either get us back on track or to wake up and pay more attention to the here and now. IP: Logged |

Well, I think every "little" moment lead to yOu being exactly where you are right nOw, and Moment = One tome. Most importantly is the decisions you make at the culmination of moments - they can determine the possibilities that may exist in the many moments ahead. To decide the "right" path is where wisdom lay. There is no "wrOng" path, but the time taken can be used for other things, to enable more moments, and so on. You could live your entire life without truly living a moment or making decisions, which is not a sin either, this could be riding the wave of life to see where it takes you. But to Actively Choose your path I think takes great courage. To do this consistently with meaning would mean you'd need to live every moment to the fullest, and take meaning where you can to establish your goal - not detract from it. Life is what you make it.Heaps of Love, Dean. ------------------ I realized it for the first time in my life: there is nothing but mystery in the world, how it hides behind the fabric of our poor, browbeat days, shining brightly, and we don't even know it. BlueTopaz,Yeah, perhaps not every *little* thing,.......although we do learn from the little things just as well. Dean, yes, actively choosing the correct path and decisions. Pire, I don't know, perhaps accidents that happen, happen for a reason? Just thoughts and ideas ~ IP: Logged |

Yes, I think everything happens for a reason. I believe this because I believe in God, and I believe that God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. Therefore, I believe that everything that happens is it only willed by God but is an expression/manifestation of God.IP: Logged |
