Flash sites are pretty expensive, I know because its one of the things I do as a free lancer, but hosting for a year and domain registration is only going to be about €50. After that you just use a free CMS (Content Management System) like "drupal" http://drupal.org/, have the website built in flash and routed through the CMS. If you want a back end on the flash site like for updating content and you specifically want it in flash then you are really going to get expensive. However if they just nice flash graphics for the site coupled with your standard html based sites that its not so bad, but even stand alone flash applications/banners are costly. Example, I done a small game that took about 10 days to program and a friend done the art end. We quoted them 2k, and they felt that was cheap based on quotes from other companies (Games being the most expensive flash imo) Banners with no interactivity would be down in the low 100's. I mean.. this kind of stuff is going on out there http://episteme.arstechnica.com ----------------------------------------- Take note of what people are saying here. The costs isn't because it was done in Flash. The cost is due to design. The technology it was implemented in is a non factor. quote: My wife and her partner regularly land $20,000 contracts for site design that includes some flash or other "fancy" tools.
That's just the design work...it doesn't include back-end coding or development for special interaction/database stuff, etc. Writing RFP's for large, VERY expensive websites, the cost for services is generally:
Specialized content >>>>> Design/layout > project management > actual coding. IP: Logged |
