I have read of this method of letting go of attachment.

A GIANT eraser, visualized, on an object, a person, a situation and it can not haunt you any longer if it never happened.

My issue with this and my question to you all is IF one were to erase part of their past does that mean that one did not learn from it?

Obviously it DID happen and one would be silly to try to say that it were never there, but it seems to me that erasing something may be a good technique for someone like me who has trouble with attachment and letting go.

I dunno...

any thoughts???

I think that erasing it IS acknowledging that you learned from it.

"Thank you for my lessons in this situation, I have learned from this situation, I have completed it, and now I am letting it go to the Universe as it is not mine to harbor any longer"

I just came up with that as an example of letting go, I hope it helps and makes sense?

Here's another image my Gemini sister gave me last night.

Forgiving = For Giving
Imagine yours hands empty as you have given away or let go of whatever...so now they are open to receive good... and now a new cycle... always ready for giving away and open for receiving.

Wow.. It's kinda like the Matrix where he's offered a choice between 2 pills. Red to learn the truth, blue to return to the world as he knows it. Crazy how life imitates art.

I don't know.. I think that for the most part our experiences are there to teach us. We go thru life's up's and down's and we learn from them. Everything happens for a reason, right? I've been to hell and back in a hand basket, but I've also become a stronger person for it.

When releasing and letting go of negative emotions one can also visualize inhaling positive white light and exhaling all the negative thoughts/feelings into a balloon and letting it go.

Hippiechick,
The Giant Eraser technique can be used after you first visualize yourself as a giant version of yourself [telling your subconscious are that much more accomplished and have grown as a person].

IQ thanks, this is kind of what I have done...

Feels right.

~~~
I have returned "home" albeit, temporarily, to the place of my physical birth, in this incarnation anyway. A thousand and a half miles from where my physical self currently resides, and there is nothing here, matter of fact had to wander into the tiny lake resort town just to find a public computer!!! This is the place for me to erase that which I choose, a place returned to from which spawned, physically...then back to deal with real life...
blessings
