I've experienced a feeling of this a few times in my life...the wind in the trees and the feeling of a spiritual force communicating empathically to me.....Have any of you experienced this?IP: Logged |

Oh gosh yes....many times. I've witnessed them chatting to each other too. And once one asked me for a hug.....seriously. I was walking along in a residential area minding my own business when it kind of called me over. I had to give a quick look round to make sure that no one was looking though! IP: Logged |

The “Giving Tree” is a short, colorful story about the relationship between a young boy and a tree in a forest. The tree and the boy become best friends – playing together, keeping each other company – and the tree always provides the boy with whatever he wants. At first, the boy visits the tree often, and only wants branches to swing on and shade to sit under. The tree happily provides. As the boy grows older, he visits less, and when he visits, he asks for more and more from the tree – apples to sell, branches to build a house, and ultimately, the tree’s trunk to build a boat “to sail far away.” Many years later, the boy – now an old man – returns to the tree. The tree – now just a stump – is overjoyed, but has nothing left to give. The man says that all he wants is a place to rest and sit. The stump obliges, and they are both happy. Surely, we can all benefit from the messages of self-sacrifice and love in “The Giving Tree.” IP: Logged |

I love that book "The Giving Tree" too. "The Lorax" by Dr. Seuss would cause quite an emotional reaction to me as well as a child. They are my preferred subject in photography and sketch. Some seem to have a quiet wisdom about them... that patiently waits for contact with another source of intelligent life. I could wax poetic over a tree.IP: Logged |
