You've said it pretty well. We wouldn't know JOY and all the other upsides without the comparison of these matters you have mentioned.
The proverbial for everything there is a season. It's only when we look back and reflect on the totality of our experiences, that we can see how the threads of our story
are interwoven, thus creating our personal tapestry. It's hard to see clearly in the middle of a storm, yet the sun always appears again. The symbolic dove of peace returns with the olive branch, to show us that new life has emerged. That's why I relate to Linda Goodman's love of "On a Clear Day, You Can See Forever."
I think it's important in our down times to find the BALANCE of good self-care/nurture (whatever this means to one) and perform some uplifting acts of caring for others.
Many are often riding the same wave as us and there is great comfort when we realize that we aren't isolated in our trials. It does take trust and faith in the grand process, that we are ultimately strengthened by these occurrences. A wise builder would only reconstruct a stronger and more improved structure ... and a sturdy foundation is necessary to weather and resist the storms.
We can't see the roots of the tree growing under the ground, that support the new growth above... We get a pruning from time to time, so that we can continue our growth and remain fruitful. Our rewards are most evident in the harvest seasons of our lifetime.
...and Harvest contains some wonderful words...
... and butterflies are free to fly ...
yet they did have to go through that cocooning process.
Our growing pains require and deserve our healthy attentions for alleviation.
