Hi Kim,
These are the techniques I use for meditation
using colour based visualization.
Step 1:
Relax in a chair or bed, eyes closed. Breathe very deeply, fill your lungs slowly and then exhale slowly. Do this till you are very relaxed. Try to smell the air intently as it comes in and goes out, this way the relaxation effect will be more pronounced.Step 2:
After some relaxation, imagine a stream of bright yet very pale pinkish light entering the top of the crown of your head from a silver colored elastic channel connected to a bright sun at the top of your head. (This represents your Higher Self or OverSoul). Imagine this stream going down your spine, all the way to your legs, then returns back through the same path. On it's way back, imaginee black debris being forced out through the top of your crown by this light, through this elastic
channel. This debris represents all toxins and all negative experiences and negative thoughts accrued lifelong from inside your Aura, your physical body and your genes. Allow all of this negativity to go out. A few steps of this exercises cleanses your Auric Chakras or Energy Centres.
Step 3:
Imagine surrounding yourself with a violet bubble. This prevents bad energy from electronic devices and harmful people or events from affecting your Aura. [Do this part every 12 hours for protection in heavy crowds etc.]
Step 4:
Imagine a brown cylinder surrounding your feet upto the edge of the thighs. This is for grounding you to Earth . Spin the cylinder in any direction you choose, preferably clockwise.
Step 5:
Visualize a pale red colored cylinder in the are surrounding your genitals and lower spine. Spin it in the same speed and direction as the brown cylinder. Allow 15 seconds to 1 minute for this visualization. Pale Red represents basic creative energy.
Step 6:
Visualize a pale orange colored cylinder in the navel/kidney region.
The color should surround every cell in the regions and even surround the aura or a part of you outside the body in this region.
Spin it in the same speed and direction as the brown and pale red cylinders. Pale Orange represents truth and filteration.
Step 7:
Visualize a pale yellow colored cylinder in the stomach and middle back region upto the Solar plexus. Spin it along with the other cylinders. Pale Yellow represents intelligence, logic, absorption.
Step 8:
Visualize a clear, bright, medium green colored cylinder surrounding the heart region and upper back region. Spin it synchronously.
Bright Green represents abundance, oxygenation, health, happiness.
Step 9:
Visualize an ice blue colored cylinder surrounding your neck, throat, teeth, lips and mouth region. Spin it synchronously.
Ice Blue represents communication, voice, music.
Step 10:
Visualize a royal blue colored cylinder surrounding your brain, eyes, nose, ears, back of the head. Especially focus on the "PINEAL GLAND" inside the Brain Centre. Spin it synchronously. Spin this for 2 minutes. Royal Blue represents the Hyperspace Link, Pineal Gland, Advanced KNowledge, Brain, Super Intelligence.
Step 11:
Visualize a violet colored cylinder surrounding the top of the head and a little bit over the head. Spin this synchronously with the other cylinders for 2 minutes. Violet represents ultimate protection, selflessness and connection to Angelic forces.
This completes the Chakra Energization and Balancing Exercise. It is best to do this every day in the morning and evening for perfect health and removal of psychic toxins that if not release to your Higher Self [The Sun connected to thetop of your Head], wil manifest as disease/accidents/emotional outbursts.

For psychic protection: Just surround yourself in 5 violet bubbles, one after the other, then surround the last bubble in Gold. Imagine like they are violet bubble gum bubbles surrounding you
This visualization is a quick protection exercise from all bad vibes and all intrusions.
For Oxygenation of the body and rapid healing:
Visualize surrounding yourself physically and aurically in bright medium green color (the color of abundant fresh spring leaves). The colour must come in from your HIgher Self cord and fill completely before leaving. Doing this daily with deep breathing for 5-10 minutes is a complete rejuvenator.
The above is just a starting point. Later on, you will be guided to better forms of meditative practices by your Higher Self and you must evolve accordingly. There is no rigidity nor orthodoxy in reality.

I prefer their methods to others because of simplicity. Yoga will also work but yoga needs slightly expensive teachers and clubs etc.
