Perhaps the greatest and most terrible power possessed by the darkness, is the ability it has to make itself appear greater and more terrible than it really is. Like certain lizards whose collars spread, or cats whose backs arch, giving them the appearance of larger creatures when confronted, evil seeks to present a more awful face than it has. The shadows of demons frequently loom larger and darker than the demons themselves, and even their countenances are deceptively hideous. They rarely swallow the souls who do battle with them; but they gobble up, by the millions, the ones who stand frozen, overwhelmed at the sight of the grotesque. There is no evil in the world which does not pass, sooner or later, into good. But the evil which remains evil for the longest stretch of time is that evil which has yet to -- and may never -- befall us; and which accosts us only in the form of fear. Tragedy holds many in it's grip, but the fear of tragedy holds many more still. For every misfortune we fall prey to, there are a thousand we fear. This is why, even in the midst of what seems like the most horrible catastrophe, we may be struck with a sudden feeling of relief. Some part of us relaxes, as if to say, "Finally, it has happened. At last, I can stop fearing it." IP: Logged |

Even more insidious are the ones who appear as beautiful angelics and beings of light... who say..."trust us"....... these are proof that not all that glitters is gold, nor good. Blinded and bedazzled, folks fall and run willing right into the sweet traps of these worse types of evil. Ugly is not automatically evil and beautiful is not automatically good. It is easier to catch the fly with honey than it is with vinegar.

LEXX You'll make me Overdose on the LOTR references!Frodo says: quote: I think an agent of the darkness would look fairer and feel fouler.

Whilst I derived that not from TLOTR.... Frodo spoke truth indeed, and quite succinctly put was his observation on the issue of the appearance of evil... quote: I think an agent of the darkness would look fairer and feel fouler.
Kudos to Frodo! PS.Its actually: quote: Frodo: I think a servant of the Enemy would look fairer but feel fouler.

Evil tortures children to create in them dissociative identity disorder, which it then turns to its own advantage (mind control). The Nazis knew a lot about this and after they appeared to be defeated, they actually emigrated and took it to America. MK Ultra etc. Some will actually go as far as to say it is a necessary evil, and that such practices are patriotic, for the purposes of national security. Anyway....what you wrote there definitely resonates....I was sensitive to spirits etc as a very young child and would often wake up frightened, and I know a lot of it was because of my own fear. I even wonder if demons themselves are beings created by actual collective energy/ thought-forms. I just would like to know what can be done to stop children, adults, animals and all beings in the universe from being tortured....and I don't have the answer yet. IP: Logged |

There isn't one answer, but many. Many things contribute to the social conditions which give rise to abusive behavior. I've tried to elucidate a number of them. I know you have too. IP: Logged |

It's only in recent years that industrialised nations around the world have begun talking of 'sustainable development'. Our whole economy and the very supports of our society are based on practices that cannot proceed indefinitely. Resources, whether they be food, water, fossil fuels, money or housing, are not enough to support our bursting-at-the-seams population. There is a lack, a dearth of resources which leads to friction and struggle for survival. Hunger, poverty and homelessness are no longer limited to Third World nations as the recession has left millions without a job, a reminder of the unsustainable nature of our industrial growth.
My mercurial brain throws up a reference to the movie 'Watchmen' where a character uses a similar argument to appeal for mainstream usage of free energy. I quote Adrian Veidt from memory: quote: All war is based on scarcity..if we make energy free, we make war obsolete.

There's a legend (which is to say, I'm not sure if it's true), that Tesla discovered a way to get energy right out of the ground, cheaply and easily. Allegedly, it was suppressed. I do know of several instances like this, where discoveries which would have revolutionized a particular field were suppressed; either made illegal, or bought up and buried. Paul Stamets recently discovered a way to lead insects around, which could potentially make the pesticide industry obsolete. They've offered him huge sums of money for the patent, but he's too principled, and too well-informed, to take the money. He knows they'd only bury his discovery, and go on with business as usual. It's a shame more inventors aren't like him.

not alleged but proven. i know someone who hs done it and he knows of others too. however it is legally considered STEALTH of power to do this on any large scale. by the government and GE of course.as to the suppression, that was apparently NOT true, since the information has been available all along and that is how my friend put it together along with others.
