I came to know him when, one day, I got my hands on the Lesser Key of Solomon. That was the time when I had sniffed the realm of the occult for the first time and my Scorpio self wanted to assimilate as much as possible.

In recent weeks, his influence over me had strengthened considerably and he was filling my mind with the most morbid thoughts and putrid ideas but it wasn't until I did the Violet Meditation that I was able to wrench myself free of his grip. I had another battle with him early this morning so I finally decided to Google him.

Here's what stood out:

How did he appear to you and how did you get to know him?

This has been bugging you for 6 years and you're talking about it now ?

He only started messing with my head a couple of months ago. Earlier he used to be a part-time mentor of sorts because he used to answer my queries on the occult and sort me out when I was stuck. I was shuffling through the Lesser Key of Solomon when I found out a section called the Ars Goetia which listed the names of the 72 Spirits of Goetia who aided and abetted the mage in performing magic.

His name simply jumped at me and I tried summoning him just like that(Aries Mars in 8th: fearless but stupid ) and I felt a slight change in the air as it became heavier. Those were the days when my third eye was just opening. I talked to him, excited rather than scared and continued taking pep talks from him through 6 years.

Still, I am happy to get rid of the influence though

I did ask him about the Fall of Angels and what he told me messed up everything I had originally thought about God, Angels and Heaven

He was...but he never told me how he fell. He did agree that he was at fault and that he could have acted in a better way, but he felt that his punishment was too severe.

The last time, he did say he would redeem himself and rejoin the angels' ranks.

About what he told me...
This stuff is beyond belief and highly controversial, so I'm not sure if I should post all of it, but I'll give you a few snippets to douse your curiosity.

Did you know that Michael is not a name for an angel but a title for the Commander of God's Army?
That there are more than one angels who have/had this title?
And Death, the Horseman, is actually an angel?

There's so much room for deception and half-truth.

Disembodied beings can say anything, and we may believe them because, for whatever reason, we may feel inclined to trust the word of disembodied beings; even ones we believe to be demons. But consider for a moment how much ambiguity there is in all of this. Just because you try to summon a particular entity, and an entity appears claiming to be that one, doesn't mean it really is that entity. Many spirits just want attention, and will play whatever game you're playing. They'll play whatever role you want them to play, in order to take part in whatever cosmic drama you've resolved to play out with yourself.

And many of the descriptions we have of demons in the Western tradition bear a striking resemblance to the gods of the East. The description you read even says he may rule over the East. In relation to the Western mind, which places emphasis on doing, not being, Eastern philosophy appears as the obvious spawn of the devil. Eastern mystics, along with tribal shamans, were often seen as "lazy", since they were not possessed by the fanatical work-ethic we see propounded everywhere in the western world. Also, they were seen as "vain", when they did not place the same neurotic emphasis on self-mortification as we see in the west. But, hey, maybe I'm only taking this position because I'm possessed by Astaroth. Who knows?

Basically, before jumping to conclusions (something Mars in Aries is no particular stranger to), we ought to consider that every philosophy one disagrees with may be deemed a "rationalized philosophy". And any spirit which appeared to a Western occultist, conveying unfamiliar teachings, could be dismissed and categorized as a demon. If the teachings were persuasive, the spirit would almost definitely be deemed "a very powerful demon", lol. We should remember the warning of Nietzsche, that every good thing was once called evil. And of Rilke, that "every angel is terrifying".

Moreover, the entities which appear to us are far more likely to be projections of our own unconscious processes and conflicts, than actual angels or demons (although, granted, it's debatable whether there is any real and clear difference between what is "in here" and what is "out there"). Usually, if we dig, we find that there is a deep ambivalence in our nature, a question which is unresolved, and which poses itself to us in the form of a projection; an entity.

The problem can ultimately frame itself in a psychological split between good and evil. But the truth may be something less black and white, far deeper and more mysterious. In championing one element of our psyche, we may inadvertently make an enemy, or a demon, out of a contrary element. The resolution, however, may be that both of these elements need to be balanced. Neither is wholly good or bad. Both are parts of who we are, and wholeness requires synthesis, not amputation. Our culture, rooted in monotheistic ideals, finds it difficult to accept such compromises. A great book which can give insight into this phenomenon is Thomas Moore's "Care Of the Soul".

One reason why I have never understood evil is because I don't get it. Simple as that. I just don't get what the jeepers-creepers is this thing/phenomena/object/person/entity that humans call 'Evil'.

Because for me it is the same. Good is Evil, Evil is Good and everything moves into form and out of form and remains beyond the reach of word and thought, unless the seeker would give up the attachment to duality and embrace it within himself...maybe the world is not Black and White and Saruman was not wrong in being colourful but to explain it, one would have to make distinctions and in that process lose all knowledge of nature.

I have done quite a few rantings on this and I still do it because for the life of me, I can't understand what elusive, nebulous joy do humans find in assigning dualities to energy.

Till then, I will continue to run into demons, whom I find to be better listeners than angels

I have struggled for years with if there is or is not a "God".

But I sure as hell believe in evil.

FQ just be careful with trusting demons. Remember they are evil and will trick you into believing whatever they want you to believe. I get a creepy vibe out of this too.

Like a pedophile tricking a child with candy kind of creepy.
