WOW! That is amazing!!! I love stories like that!

Does your husband have any feelings or memories connected to that man, I wonder?

Yes.
There are many weird wonderful things...
but please forgive me, too tired and wonky to type it all out at the moment.
Been cutting and pasting from my writings....
easier to do when wonky brained from pain and meds, than thinking and typing is.
When I am pain/meds related wonky brained, or as in the strokes, when some folks cruelly accused me of faking because
I could cut and paste but could not type well or spell, :-(
I lose my ability to verbally speak or to type my thoughts....which made calling an ambulance impossible, and going to bed is the worse thing one can do during a brain glitch event!
It is weird...I can read and cut and paste just fine, but writing, typing and talking go bye byes!
The neurologist told me that is not unusual.
But folks who do not understand those dynamics are often very unkind to one going through such a thing.:-(
I can type today but slowly and spell checker is getting a major workout!
As to talking...very slurred to say the least.
Was at ER last week, so know it is the meds not a stroke fortunately which is causing brain farts now.
Whew!

I don't know why anybody would think drug induced NDEs discredit the NDE at all. If anything, it reinforces the idea. Why would somebody have to be physically near death to have an NDE? During a traditional NDE the person has the experience as soon as they KNOW they're going to die. There is nothing physical about it. If you know you're going to die your brain will shut down, sparing you from the pain associated with that particular death. At this point (brain death), if an EEG is attached to the person it will show that all waves have stopped. The mind moves onto the next life, no matter what is actually going on with the body. If the body is not physically injured (at least too badly), that determines whether or not the person is able to remember the experience once the brain wrangles the consciousness back to this plane. Anything that can induce this zero-brainwave condition, be it actual death, the threat of it, or just drugs, can be responsible for a full-on NDE. There's no reason to try and differentiate between different methods of brain-death because there is only one brain-death just as there is only one physical death. If a person is dead from cancer or getting hit by a train are they any more or less dead than someone who passes in their sleep of old age?

Welcome!

A zero-brainwave condition no matter the cause can result in an NDE.
However often the difference betwixt a true NDE and an OBE is hard to ascertain.
