Anybody watch that program where that Long Island "medium" communicates with DeFeo and exorcises him and his dead family?IF it were fiction, I probably would have enjoyed it further, however thought provoking. Obviously crazier than a loon, DeFeo could have well been "posessed" with all the substance and alleged abuse. thoughts? t~ IP: Logged |

Haven't seen the show, but also thought the story behind the Amityville house was creepy. Have seen the movie based on it, and a few months back my husband and I drove up to LI, just to see the house in person. They changed the famous windows abit though, probably so it wouldn't be as recognizable to the public. Still very eerie to look at even during the day. Alot of speculation around whether or not it is really haunted, they say that the Lutz family claimed it to be haunted for profit. I honestly don't believe the house was initially haunted when the DeFeos resided there, but I do think that after Ronnies night of blood bathe that the house got a permanant stain of tragedy lurking around it.IP: Logged |

I cant decide if he was just plain crazy or driven mad by some unseen negative entity.I perhaps a mix of it all. With his drug abuse, the alleged abuse by his father one would have issues, but it could also open one up to "posession." Libra, what did you feel from the house? t~ IP: Logged |

He might have had a mental disorder that caused hallucinations or where he heard voices. Read before that people that do have heavy drug use are more prone to experiencing negative entities. Looking at the house in person, it did have an unsettling vibe to it, but not an overwhelming one. You definitely would get the impression something wasn't right, I wouldn't be able eat or sit still in that house, just too uncomfortable. IP: Logged |

My friend showed me the house back in 1980, it was a weird feeling knowing what happened there.IP: Logged |
