I put my fluorite on my forehead and shortly after I had this sensation where I felt like I was falling backwards, a few times. It was cool.

Excellent.

I tried it again, and I sometimes like to look at what I see with my eyes closed. I saw purple much more vividly in my vision than usual.

One time I meditated with an amethyst bracelet on my forehead, and for a good moment my whole entire vision was blue!

@ Stawr... I think that the way you like to experiment with the stones/gems and tell us about your experiences is really cool!... I like to do stuff like that too....

@ listenstotrees.... OH!! I can relate sooo well with your love of trees!! They are sacred and alive! In their own way, they 'feel'... We must "listen" to them ...

I always love it when I see your member-name! The image of your name gives me such a treat.... (yes, I can get really 'simple' pleasures at times.... silly me )

I grew up in woods in my own backyard, then moved away to "bare" fallow crusty level dirt sportsfields in an undeveloped new suburban neighborhood when I was 7-8 years old. Traded in streams and rocks for cement gullies. I mourned the loss of my woodland sanctuary and home--- softest mossy sides of gurgling brooks and streams, and my great big granite boulders with shiny mica flecks. I (still) miss it all terribly--- but glad I have the memories as a new elder now.

Here's a consolation?

I have lived my life surrounded with books! I've been very proud of the non-fluffy collections I've had, and proud that I was able to freely "donate" sections of these twice, in my lifetime, to two small fledgling college libraries--- they were able to gain a higher accreditation level for their students.

My books are sadly down to a bare fraction of what I had-----(catastrophic life events, moves, economy)... HOWEVER!! .... With the books that I DO have, I "look" at them with appreciation and love: I know they are my "trees" in a different form ---- paper!!

So, perhaps we can say that I left my beautiful "woods" as a child... but the "trees" followed me around in the transitioned form of "pages, in paper books." My books were "trees"--- I have had my "trees" surround and inspire the variety of niches I've called my 'home' in life.

Soooo, {{{hugs}}} to our Trees! To our books, and rocks & stones, and to YOU, who listenstotrees!

(I got here from URL left in Health and Healing forum; now will go back there the same way.... bye for now....)

My dream also is to eventually be able to buy a house with its own bit of garden one day. I live in a small flat at the moment in the centre of town, which is kind of beneficial in a way after spending far too much time by myself as a hermit in the past. Fortunately in parts of the town there are actually lines of trees alongside the streets (I live in Cheltenham, UK). There are also parks nearby. There are woodlands and hills too but I don't tend to venture out to these very much as they are a bit of a walk and I don't drive (and my husband isn't keen on long/ hilly walks with his Meneires Diseases).

I have always felt drawn to the native American Indians and other native peoples of the Earth ever since I was a young child, and before I was ever aware that it was "cool" to feel this way in the hippy era or that these feelings are so common amongst the "new-age" crowd. Sometimes I've shared thoughts on other forums which come accross as cliche and new-age, but they were only things I expressed that came directly from within.

I used to be very religious as a young child, although I didn't go to church. I prayed from an early age and may have been influenced by my brothers, who were brought up as mormons but became "inactive" after I was born and my parents divorced, so I wasn't brought up in it as such. But the strongest influence I had were strong feelings I sometimes got when I prayed, of love, especially on one occasion when I was praying because I was scared because something had frightened me or I had a bad dream, and I felt something really powerful like pure love pouring into my being, and a feeling of total oneness, interconnection and love with all.

I am not religious any more, and I have been through a lot of times where I feel perplexed over thinking and believing/ spirituality.....but I will never forget that feeling I had in the past of the Oneness, or of the feelings of love.

I know we are very connected to animals and nature too- I'm not just talking about people at all. I began this life feeling more connected to animals than I did people. Eventually as i grew older I began to extend this to humans by seeing that all we are is just complex animals, and although we are capable of such ugliness and cruelty, we all start off life as innocent, helpless babies. Deep down we are all needy just as we were when we are born, and fragile. We all need love, no matter how old we get, or how hard or exterior shell gets.

I'm not sure what kind of life crystals are exactly yet, but they fascinate me and their beauty has always uplifted and calmed me.

Mirage29, I recently bought a "Kobo Glo" e-reader. I wasn't keen on the idea of e-readers such as "Kindle" at first, however I love the idea that they save using paper and that it is quick and easy (and a little cheaper) to download books, and good for reading comfortably in bed (Kobo Glo has a light you can turn up and down for this purpose). You can store hundreds of books on these before they ever run out of space.
