The story goes that they are formed by monks while chanting.

Persistent folklore describes goldstone as an accidental discovery by an unnamed Italian monastic order or medieval alchemists, but there is no pre-Miotti documentation to confirm this.

Gemstone properties: Red goldstone is associated with vitality and energy. Blue Goldstone is associated with learning and communication. Goldstone is said to be the stone of ambition. It builds energy, courage and a positive attitude. Increases drive and confidence.

Healing properties: Goldstone also has many of the metaphysical properties of copper, including strengthening the circulatory system, strengthening bones, and easing arthritis pain, which is felt to be extremely helpful in increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

which I bought some time ago. I did not even know it was one until yesterday! I tried meditating with it but haven't been able to access anything yet. I think it may also have a "key" in it, which I assume is a sort of dip in the crystal, near the base. Maybe I'll start a thread when I have more time on crystals and post some pictures up of my collection.
