Hello there. Is there any reason why butterflies are always 'finding' me.

Just the other day i was alone at the beach out of all places, and out of nowhere really this monarch butterfly comes, hovers around my towel and stuff for a while, stood for a bit, ignoring everyone elses, and carried on flying.

I was by the shore by then, and it flew to me, flew around me for a while and then headed to the sea, despite me asking it not to, but then i couldn't see it anymore.

Anyway this isn't the first time in a short while this happens...the next day one of my dearest ever friend's called to tell me his father had passed away all of a sudden at lunch. Are the two events linked? or what is all that butterfly business about?

Metamorphosis... Change. Living. Still being you, but in a different form. Re-Cycles on the Wheel of Life.

(clip) Complete Life Cycle of Monarch Butterfly [4:33] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AUeM8MbaIk

(I got to this forum through an URL in a different thread.)

So sorry about the death of your close friend's dad, jellyfishtry... News like that can shock us.

Thanks for the amazing video Mirage29, and good to see you posting again, i saw another forum mentioning you going through some changes, and i hope it all turns out to be to your advantage at the end of the day

with the butterflies and me i guess it is 'life cycle and back to spirit' another friend sent me a text last night to tell me her dad passed away to, this one has been sick for a while, but no one is ever ready for death is the truth of the matter...(and that's like 2 in less than week?!)

but what is kind of strange is I saw the same butterfly type again earlier yesterday near a traffic light while crossing a busy street...so just wow....sigh

Thank you jellyfishtry for your kindness and wishes towards me. I'm not 'totally' back to full posting yet, but have a little time for right now. I'm believing that the Fates of Necessity are working all out on my behalf. Taking things one day at a time.... Yes, hope and pray for the best!

Death is so stark, no matter what form it takes. On this immediate earthly flat plane, when we see something change form, we see and experience "loss." But from the view of 'higher thoughts,' we will come to see the reward with our eyes. ~~ No longer bound to grip the earth for mere existence, we grow to change form; and in the change, we increase our sights and reaches.

We get new abilities. We can find we have wings to soar through new life experiences, completely forgetting afterwards that we were this groping, slower and slower crystalizing 'worm'.... We graduate! We move upwards! We find our lives increased to another 'different' level. This expanse has a new beauty. It is a new part of life that has always been there, but we weren't able to 'notice' or appreciate it.

We find a new level of maturity. Inherent is a new-found natural ability to see wider vistas before us. Earth, AND Air. It was there all along.... We just weren't in the 'position' and 'stage of development' to Know this Possibility. We could read about it, hear people talk about it, but we truly did not imagine the truth of what it's like until "it" happened, or happens, to us.

Your life must feel sooo spooky, right now, Jellyfishtry! I KNOW how exquisitely sensitive you are. You're a quality person. I'm glad you're talking about your experience.... Thank you for that. I feel for your losses. Thank you for sharing this with us here...

Found this passage in an old book I have on my shelves. A Dictionary of Symbols by J. E. Cirlot, 1962 (Philosophical Library, NY - Translated from Spanish), pgs 33-34.

quote:
Butterfly ...

Among the ancients, an emblem of the soul and of unconscious attraction towards the light (8). The purification of the soul by fire, represented in Romanesque art by the burning ember placed by the angel in the prophet's mouth, is visually portrayed on a small Mattei urn by means of an image of love holding a butterfly close to a flame (8).

The Angel of Death was represented by the Gnostics as a winged foot crushing a butterfly, from which we may deduce that the butterfly was equated with life rather than with the soul in the sense of the spirit or transcendent being (36).

This also explains why psychoanalysis regards the butterfly as a symbol of rebirth (56).

In China, it has the secondary meanings of joy and conjugal bliss (5)."

(Parentheses are footnotes to Bibliography Reference.)

Thank you for the wonderful reply and kind thoughts Mirage29, you are one special person yourself to, and you will get on top of all the 'chaos' as you are that strong.

I feel silly, i know it is them whose hearts are aching with a lot of emptiness and hurt inside, and having a difficult time.

but i've had real bad 'expeirences' and cut almost everyone i know out of my life except one or two people...so these friends are like my 'babies' and no one wants to see people this close 'their babies' in so much pain, specially all at the same time to...so wondered if the butterfly had some kind of meaning in it, through all this.

Also a bit of head scratching for me... lost my mum a long time ago when i was a teen,

and am sort of 'sure' this is the year my own other parent will pass on, his health is going worst in front of my own eyes everyday...but i really don't want to think about it, so thinking of what am supposed to understand about this 'butterfly messenger' before going to the next 'chapter' in life...

though i loved that part of the text you quoted talking about not crystallizing as worms....a lot of sense in that, and won't lie that i sometimes feel death is actually the freedom of our own 'spirit' to fly and soar high up like we could never do before, but in truth we don't know, what happens next.

back to these times, spooky is a good word...but who knows butterflies have never been a symbol to run away from for most cultures and times, so who knows what is the significance of all this 'repeated experience' happening at once?

Mirage29, thank you so much

Hey Jelly

If butterflies keep showing themselves to you I would like to believe they have a message. Transformation, a new find 'lightness' and joy are some of the messages. I'm looking it up in my totem animals book for you, but it's too much to type...
You can google on totem animals, animal medicine and butterflies. Also it may help to look up the colours and their meaning

From the book:it says to take note of the most important issues confronting you at the moment. Apparently there are 4 stages of change/transformation (from cocon to butterfly) and you can look at what stage you are in.

Also it says to remember life is a dance and not to take everything heavy and seriously. Do you have enough joy in your life? Is it time to get up and make some changes?

Edit: just looked up the colours of this butterfly (I didn't know). So it's orange, black and a bit of white right? Think the message is very personal, but you can look up the meaning of the second chakra (the sacral chakra). It refers to sexuality, intimacy and creativity among other things. This is the 'house if your emotions'. The black could tell you that a part of this probably needs healing or it is time to let some of the negative emotions go (in concern to intimacy/sharing/other people) and perhaps to re-open so the new bright orange can shine like before again. So you can fully experience (and radiate) your joy again.
Again, I'm just brainstorming a bit here, but it might give you some new ideas.

Hope this helps

Ps) can you remember how you felt both moments the butterflies appeared? For me they often show up after I just 'released' something or I'm having very loving (future orientated) thoughts. Like the lightness in my head (not in an air head way, lol) attracts them.

HI HI TWIRL!!! how are you? always a pleasure and joy to read your posts for starters

i have to say the first day i saw it at the beach i was happy (made me feel special, that it just hovered around my stuff and then found me and no one else, lol) and yes i had made up my mind that for a change on the outside, it has to be on the inside...i've been like that crystalizing worm for a while coming to think about it.

but then friend and sudden death of a parent....

then a few days later...butterfly....and friend tells me about their dad passing away to a few hours later....

so maybe just a strange co-incidence?

these two were monarchs, so they were orange mostly, and black and white of course.....

maybe just a co-incidence with the other two i suppose...will search online for the meanings to.

Twirl, thank you! so happy to see a post from you to, but have no idea why

Hey Jelly!!!

Always good to see you too

I also like the passage by Mirage, referring to the soul and Death also being transformation of course. In the totem animal book it says that butterfly is also a reminder that transformation can be a light and soft process. Smoothly, like the fluttering.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your friends father and the worries of the health of your parent.

For the colours: the dots of white in the butterfly could refer to 'spirit'/purity, divine among others.

I love it when animals show up as guides! Sounds very special on the beach

Lol, maybe it didn't show for second chakra, but there is other meanings to the colours...
For me a red-black butterfly showed after I did an extent releasing/transforming anger exercise. Red and black for me is very much related to anger so I was thrilled to see it flying near me after. The next day after I did the exercise again, it showed again. Felt like such a present!

Perhaps you can meditate on your butterflies for more insight?

Bye now Jelly

Edit: just remembered I dreamt of the beach last night. I'm positive it was of this post, because I had to think of the beach because of your description I'll quickly write my dream down in my journal, lol. Completely forgot until I typed this
I now also want to go to the beach irl haha.

Hey Randall, thanks for asking, i to love this forum so much, but will have to let it pass.

am using the same user name i used for emails in the past, and with a little similarity wit that 'gang stalking' thread and previous 'internet' trouble, i don't want it to be that easy to find me lol

i really love your forums and do hope to continue to contribute to it positively whenever i can.

agree Twirl and Mirage29 (and even you Randall) do go out of the way to help others...Twirl your interpenetration of that anti-Christ at the wheel dream was one BIG eye opener! maybe this real life butterfly business is a continuation of something I've been realizing ever since that 'phase'

Randall...here forget moderating have ice cream instead

Randall, You're a really good person. Jellyfishtry and Twirl are quality people!

My living situation is still insecure right now. Much clean-up over the past few weeks... I really like to "keep" the promises I make to people, and I wouldn't be able to commit to Lindaland right now...

You're an angel for asking!

You are all so lovely with those happy icons!

@jelly: glad the dream helped you! Dream symbolism is so awesome, because it's our personal language showing what's going on inside. And who knows best what's best for us then our own subconscious
@ Randall: you should have said you didn't like wheat grass juice and preferred icecream One of my post disappeared in cyberspace, lol.

i'll be opening a wheat grass juice stand right next to where you work and live, then
(it's a franchise....so we got 2 stands, one closes and then the other opens, :P)

...sigh hope this "entrepreneurial" plan works, took me quite a few seconds to come up with it!
