I can't recall his age, I think he was probably 10-12, but he heard breathing under his bed. He tried to ignore it but it got louder and louder until finally he shouted for his parents, that someone was breathing under his bed. When he shouted the breathing stopped, his dad checked under the bed and then told him to go back to sleep, but after he was alone again the breathing started back up. Finally, he tried talking to it, but when he asked the name it was something he couldn't pronounce. So he asked for another name and got, "Timothy." He doesn't know if it was a coincidence, but he'd been reading Timothy in the Bible before that. (IIRC, he also saw "ladies in white" from fairy lore just before it happened, too.)

He and Timothy became good friends which distressed his parents (one experience was Timothy told him his mom was listening behind the door and he walked up talking out loud, "Mom wouldn't listen behind the door" just as he opened it to find her there, and his mom left freaked out over it), and some of the things he shared that Timothy said made relatives of his say he was psychic (which his unbelieving if Christian parents also hated), and he had a lot of psychic experiences such as once he dreamed he and Timothy (who was a blond boy his own age in his dreams, though the breathing & whispery voice sounded like an adult male) were flying along a huge line of cars and Timothy took him into one car that was vivid to him even in the smell. And about a week later his dad drove home in that exact car.

Now what was the point? None as far as he can see, perhaps Timothy was just lonely. But after a year or so Timothy went away, though he doesn't recall being upset by it, just perplexed.

However, when he was 14 he got caught in a sophisticated pool at a water theme park one summer that would generate artificial waves at time. Having spent hours there he was more tired than he thought when the waves started while he was on the deep end and he realized he didn't have the strength to fight, he was going to drown. He said he accepted that he was going to die peacefully (probably didn't help that he was badly abused) when suddenly he saw a male blond lifeguard he hadn't noticed before yelling at him to come to him in a very authoritarian tone, and still a boy more than a man he instinctively obeyed though it took every ounce of strength. When he got there he realized the lifeguard had saved his life, but when he looked up the lifeguard had vanished with no sign of ever having been there, and then he realized that it should've been impossible for him to have heard the lifeguard so clearly over the shouts of all the others in the pool and park around him. Since then he's wondered if that lifeguard was in fact Timothy.

I would say that was a spirit guide...

My daughter is quite in touch with her, he revealed himself to me the other night.

She says mine is an old lady..I had an experience with an old lady when she was born 21 years ago, with a terrible heart defect. I called her an angel, then..but now I think she was my guide.

Sam was 7 days old and going for her first surgery...I was upset, family was following me, the hallway was so crowded and a beautiful old woman, holding a bible looked at me and said "it is going to be ok."

NOBODY saw her, so I assumed it was an angel...
