I just wondered if any wanted to take a guess on what Greys would think of Grey plush dolls, like this:

It would appear they don't want most abductees to recall their experiences after all.

My own guesses are based on the assumption they have physical bodies (as otherwise their perceptions would be so alien from our point of view that they very well might not even recognize a plushie based on perceptions of them) and that they come off a inherently telepathic so the question then becomes is that a constant (like eyesight) or does it take effort (and thus tires them out, and people can even get tired from talking, and thinking also takes energy so why not projection of thought?).

If telepathic contact is a constant then I expect that starts from infancy and the role of "comfort blankets" (especially plushes) serve no purpose to them, if anything a plush could creep them out as there are "no thoughts/dead" so that no Grey child would want one. Instead, they would take comfort from thoughts of their elders (who in turn would shape their thoughts which would likely happen at a very fast pace given how fast a developing brain can learn and adapt and the telepaths able to direct pure information downloads into their brain...heck, maybe that process even begins before whatever passes for birth for them). And given that no such object exists in their world they might not even be able to fathom the plush (or if they did they might wonder if it was for some practical purpose beyond decoration, humor, etc, perhaps even fearing it's a form of communication, target practice, or even for the purpose of some unknown scientific inquiry).

OTOH, if telepathic contact is an act of will which can be tiring then the classic role of a security blanket becomes more feasible (and this is based on that children tend to feel safer when not alone and also need comfort from the dangers they can instinctively sense which even in this day can translate to fears of "monsters under the bed" and would likely be shared by children on any world with predators, which I assume is all of them). From the lore on them they sound as if they put a lot of value on the power of the mind so I'd think if they had the equivalent of a plushie then it would somehow have the "thoughts" woven into such an object, at the very least "personalized" somehow (they also don't sound like they're into mass production, unless they have telepathic workers who work much like worker bees--and some tales of them suggest this is a possibility). That is to say plushies for sale would be considered bizarrely alien (not to mention distressing if they want to keep their presence a secret).

'Course other things might play a part as well, such as how their physical senses work (do their eyes pick up the same spectrum of light that ours do or something else, is their ability to smell much worse than ours or much more acute which would make the scent of plushes more significant, tales would suggest they have no sense of smell, however, and their ability to work easily in the dark would suggest a different spectrum of sight, again assuming they're physical beings, but then maybe an inherently telepathic species "sees" in ways that a human never has, the telepathic equivalent of a bat's echolocation...)

Anyway, if anyone wanted to offer ideas on something that has been bugging me a little in the back of my mind (where I keep imagining a Grey abducting someone from a home the abductee was hiding in and picking up a plushie of a Grey alien with me wondering, "What are you thinking?") then this is the thread to do so!

I'm lost.

Who is a Grey (I did hear of this once but can't quite place them amongst the alien hierarchy)? Just a brief note .

This sums up the Greys:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_alien

Naturally there's a lot more, and also a lot of different ideas about what they are and what they're after. Therefore you shouldn't assume any "alien hierarchies" and such are "obvious." They're not. Stick 5 UFOlogists in a room together and you'll get 7 splinter sects on what it all means. So please, "explain your math" so to speak, much as I attempted to do (or at least list the authors or whatever that gave you your specific understanding).

As an example of what I mean to "explain your math" is like how I think their "implants" would be connected directly to their nerves given the pain they tend to cause and how those with them are not only easily found (like a tracking device) but that they're easily put to sleep, paralyzed, memory inhibited, etc (which strongly suggests it's a means to directly manipulate their nervous system, and the "wands" or "boxes" some are said to carry the "remote" to it, some only recall their first abduction clearly when the implant was first put in).

And I believe the impossible turns and speeds of their ships (that should crush any biological entities inside) along with suits some where that seem to allow amazing acrobatics as well as shielding them from bullets would demonstrate a control of gravity (an artificial gravity field within the craft would keep them from being crushed despite their impossible--by our standards--speed and maneuvers as well as the moves themselves using artificial gravity as well as such suits made with the same technology shielding them from bullets as the artificial gravity generated by the suits turned them away and allowing such bizarre leaps).

See that's why I think what I do about their technology (when assuming they're real biological entities), I don't assume you already know that (especially if you haven't read the lore out there on them). But I'm not expecting an essay, just a brief explanation so I know "what facts you're working with." Of course I'm more interested in what a Grey (as a biological entity) would think of a Grey plushie, a more general talk on them should probably get its own thread.

Pixie Jane, my reference to an alien hierarchy is something I got a sense of from reading posts here. Nothing I've delved into or explored. There may not be one - maybe it is a multilayered distributed system rather then hierarchical.

So, basically, I was alluding to a faint sense of some stray information. It couldn't get less tenuous than that!

Thanks for responding. Now I'll read a bit more.

Okay, but keep in mind this scenario depends on the Greys being biological rather than spirits. I know some new agers like to equate them with angels and such saying they're from another dimension entirely rather than another world. If that's the case then I'd think their ability to even perceive a plush of "themselves" would be nearly impossible (unless there was a lot of "psychic shaping" of it that appeared on the astral).

While understanding alien senses (especially if those senses aren't geared for our material plane of existence) is problematic to say the least I'd think any entity not of this plane of existence who was able to intrude momentarily would find much of the material plane to be indecipherable "static" to their senses (this based in part on what I've read of astral journeys that tend to sense intents, meanings, vibes, and even "echos" of time so that, for example, an astral entity might feel the love in a love letter but not be able to read it at all), and if they're spirit entities then that also means we're likely perceiving them as culturally inclined (so angels, fairies, Greys, whatever) rather than as they actually are (and thus they don't actually look like Greys to themselves, that's only how we perceive them to make sense out of whatever they actually are).

Heck, I just recalled a NatGeo article in which pix of a city were shown to a guy who had lived in a stone age tribe all his life. The man was literally unable to make sense out of all the skyscrapers and such, it was all surrealism to him, he found it hard to even imagined it existed literally, let alone that people worked and even lived in them! The brain has to be trained to make sense out of a lot of things even when on the same plane of existence!

Well Pix, I think you have answered your own question with regards to Greys who atleast fall into certain camps such as Angelic/Dimensional, and I'd be inclined to agree with you or throw my hands up and say... we cant know for sure.

Biological though hmmm... Greys bordering on a human or slighter higher than human perceptions and how they would react to seeing a Grey Plushie!?

Well my first problem is that I'm in the camp of saying that the Greys (The Abduction Kind) are Robots or Avatars. Bio-mechanical most likely and would be very similar to the Solider-Boys of Joe Haldeman's Forever Peace novel, or ofc the Avatars from the Movie Avatar. And are remotely controlled via either some form of ESP, or more likely a standard form of Radiowave communication such as using AT&T (But I hear a lot of alien abductions go wrong, or people accidental dropped (mid tractor-beam) when service goes down so I'd personally avoid that ASP).

As to the reasons for employing such a buffer between the actual Alien/Human controllers? It seems pretty standard to me! Heck, we send Rovers to other planets on a similar mission... The last thing I'd want to do if I were an Alien is to place myself anywhere near those incredibly hostile and unpredictable humans when I need to sample one for an experiment [Nods]

So from my POV, The real question is what do the controllers of the Greys think when they see a Plushie version of their Drones!?

Well if we are indeed working from the idea of: Greys bordering on a human or slighter higher than human perceptions? Then me personally.... I'd actually laugh my ass off and immediately change the look of my drones to something even weirder, and see how long it takes them to start coping their design in Plushie form and label it: Project Mind Plushie!

Besides the humour though, I'd have two other speculations (which you have pretty much hinted at yourself), If fear is a necessary part of the abduction process in order to be able to terrify the abductee into submission!? Then long term exposer to Grey Plushie may have the same effect I see when it comes to Cthulhu Plushies, where it ends up more as a parody joke! And about the furthest thing from frightening which is a billion miles form Lovecraft's original intention when creating the Cthulhu Monster almost a century ago. So the Grey's-Controllers could probably learn form this as we have a real world example spanning a 100 year period.

Secondly, I might very well be laughing in glee over the fact that more and more people will be sleeping beside said Plushies as it may in effect subconsciously draw Grey/Alien-abduction crews to their location and its likely too with the predisposition towards the Grey Plushie (especially children) be far easier to control during the process and easily fooled into thinking everything is OK, or just a dream!

Yet as you also made note of; Amnesia is the general MO of such abductions and that may be harder to do since every time the human sees the Plushie it could trigger suppressed memories of the actual adduction events. And this could lead to more hostile/uncontrollable abduction attempts later on or even the humans working up an immunity to being mind controlled during any abductions.

I guess its all a lot of what ifs... but we are monitoring the situation to see how things will progress. **Cuddles Cthulhu Plushie**

Frak... AT&T is down again...
