I hope this is the right place to put this..because I think it has more to do with psychic phenomena than just dreams..anyway, here goes..

I have noticed for some years now that my dreams are often prophetic, but in the most booooring mundane ways! For instance, I will have a dream about something and the next day someone I'm talking to will mention the thing in my dream..or I'll see it somewhere..like on TV or something.

Example 1:

Last week I had a random dream that I had a bunch of crappy prison tattoos on my knuckles and was trying to get them off.

Next day, a friend I haven't seen in a LONG time shows up and talks to me for hours, just catching up and stuff...and then he starts talking about a friend of his and the friend's "sh*tty prison tattoos on his hands".

Example 2:

I dreamt that I was on a spiral slide at a playground.

Next day, I decide to go on a walk with my mom and we end up walking to the park and I see the spiral slide from my dreams.

Example 3:

I had a dream that I was talking to a man online about astrology.

I wake up and notice a message notification on my phone and it's one of my friend's facebook friends randomly asking me to look up a chart for a girl he likes. I do NOT talk to this dude, ever, but he knows I do charts.

So weird, right? I want to know why I am only seeing little everyday, seemingly insignificant things like that. And I want to know how I can make this "power" stronger! Any suggestions?

Because we travel astrally to the future when we dream, but it's usually just a few days forward. So, the things we see are normally mundane everyday objects and events.

Actually, in your case, they are different from the actual experience (instead of a deja' vu exp[erience), so yeah, they do seem prophetic in nature. Maybe you can hone it and have more control over it.

Yeah sorry, forgot I posted this here LOL

I would love to have more control over it..or to see more important things. It has happened again the last couple days..

I dreamt that I was washing a car that had bird crap and dust all over it. Then I woke up, went downstairs, and my dad said to my mom, "Hey I'm gonna go wash the truck, it has bird **** all over it."

Like, seriously? What am I gonna do with that type of information? :P

I'd like to hear if anyone here has tips and advice on how to harness this ability. I'm wondering if writing the dreams down will help.

Jot them down. They seem to occur on a regular basis with you so that in itself means that your abilities are more harnessed now.

Learning to switch them on and off at will might take some practice.. Not really sure how since we seem to be in the same boat.. I have this happen to me with dreams too but in most cases while I'm lucid (working, watching tv, etc) and ummm I have absolutely no control over it. It happens when it wants.

Someone did suggest meditation to help tap in and out of it. Maybe you can try and see if it works for you?

Constantly. All the time. In fact, for years, I'd literally dream the following day's most mundane events.

I seem to be slowly moving into the ability to visit alternate timelines and spend enough time to gather information. I suspect that the 'boring' trips (throughout my late teens and early twenties) may have been preparing me for what I'm just now starting to explore in my mid-thirties.

I DO understand it's frustrating. I used to joke that 'I'm the world's most pointless psychic'. But, hey, if I'm able to learn how to time-travel, Matheson-style, that'd be something useful.
