Some smells are a reminder of my youth. With those I have a connection. I do not have a connection to smoke and I smell smoke without fire. Sometimes I walk around my house and try to find a fire that is not there. That is a smell that I cannot treat with carelessness. Sometimes I simply ask my children whether they smell smoke.
