I have no idea where I got this from… maybe something I saw on the net many years ago, or perhaps a random quote from a Carlos Castaneda book long since fallen to the bottom stack of half read books on my desk…
quote:
The Spiritual WarriorThey don’t look for validation outside of themselves for their own truth, nor confidence.
They choose carefully that which is important to defend.
They encourage those who value Truth and Beauty and truly act in impeccable, loving ways (even if in quiet) towards their fellow beings. (those who truly walk the talk --a warrior is alert to contradiction between the two).
They don’t waste energy by engaging in circle/ego displays.
In any case, it’s a “Motto” that I really took to heart when I was younger and I designed a piece of artwork around that paragraph of text. After which I printed it out with a picture of a Samurai in its background and some Japanese text/sayings denoting luck. Then pinned it right next to my desk in my old apartment where I could see it everyday.
After I moved home I realized I had forgotten my print out! And I promised myself I’d dig out the saved Artwork on my old laptop that I first made it on when I unpacked my things… But I couldn’t find the file lol! Then I said… “Ok, Ill just make a new one from Memory…” but I never did… I guess because I felt since I had it memorized then that was enough?
Years went past… and I realized I had forgotten parts of it… or couldn’t quite remember it exactly. Worse still, I had often not been living by a Motto I once believed in so vehemently lol…
Then last week…. I found the original text document I saved the Motto in…! Its going back up on my wall I think
