I know that it's suppose to be to honour and remember the dead but all I want to do is run around making preparations. Maybe because it's the start of winter and I just keep having this feeling like I have to batten down the hatchesLike once I get this work done here I feel like legging it home and deep cleaning everything, smug stick-ing everything, putting my tarot deck in salt and doing as many protective things I can. Preparing cleansing baths and teas. Line my windows and doors with salt. Do honey jars on everyone I know to try and fend off them doing anything to me. Try to do some magick to banish any negativity, something to get everything that's been holding me back off of me. I just feel very unsettled and like I need to prepare myself for a storm. But at the same time I feel so so powerful. I didn't even know it was Samhain until two nights ago when this feeling got so bad that I searched up halloween costumes and saw an ad call it Samhain. I don't know why I feel so unsettled Anyone got anything similar? IP: Logged |

I'm doing fine. If anything, this is the most low key Samhain/Halloween yet.Well, there's this crazy idea I have that someone will use Halloween to stage yet another mass shooting, but this is the USA where things like that just have to be expected. I don't actually fear it, it was just an odd thought that came up, probably in light of all the WTF mass shootings of late. IP: Logged |

There were fewer trick-or-treaters this year. Also, there weren't any Halloween parties for little kids that I'm aware of, which is a first. I don't know why it was so low key this year. Maybe others felt nervous, too.IP: Logged |

Auburn made it Thursday due to football games on Friday and Saturday, but this made sense in order not to pull police from protecting trick-or-treaters. IP: Logged |

Love this day! This year, I really felt the need to commune with others, my ancestors, or others that I am not with in the physical realm. I had the very distinct feeling of being watched several times that evening, and I really really wanted to do something about it, but it was so busy here, and bright, that I couldn't. I really felt like someone was trying to get my attention. So I was bummed that I couldn't do more about it. IP: Logged |

I just found out that last year there was some low grade hysteria of 2015 Halloween: http://www.snopes.com/666th-halloween/ That may have scared some people, and spread the mood even to those who weren't directly exposed to the legend. I know I found Halloween very low key, the most low key Halloween I've seen in many years, perhaps ever in my entire life (that I was paying attention). IP: Logged |
