First, a few questions: Is the ego all bad/negative?
(At one point, I believed it was, but guidance helped me to see that it also has a helpful/practical function.)
What exactly is ego?
(Perhaps it is a built in body system that relates to a combo of protecting the body from physical danger, but also acts as a dampener and filter for the much more sensitive Soul inside the body? And filtering/dampening what exactly? Perhaps the cacophony of inharmony and noise [energetically/vibrationally/consciousness wise] that is humanity and its collective consciousness?).
Can the ego ever truly and fully "die"?
(Probably not as long as one is connected to a dense, slow vibratory physical human body. One can raise the vibrations of the physical body, but until either death of the body or full energetic transfiguration of the body into a pure Light form, there will ALWAYS be at least some ego. It is very obvious when people accomplish the latter. They stop aging, they don't have to eat, sleep, don't get sick, etc, etc. They are no longer human in the usual ways we often think of it.)
Belief system crashes are not the same thing as an ego death. Deep, core, rooted belief systems are tied in with the ego, but they are not the same exact thing. The ego is more a generalized fear and self protectiveness. Belief systems are more specific ideas, thoughts, feelings, etc that we garner over time, experience, and interaction with others and the outside world.
Belief system crashes are indeed very painful and can feel like an "ego death", but as they are different things in their core, it is not a true ego death.
What can and does happen with ego then? There can and should be partial transformations of same. We reduce fear and selfishness here and there with positive changes in our belief systems and perceptions. And even more so with using our freewill to make consistently positive and loving choices--especially in relation to others. Certainly going through crisis can accelerate that process, because crisis can make cracks in the crystallized ego structure of our personality and body, so that Light can enter. Sometimes we have to be broken down, before we can be built back up.
And yes, this can very much relate to Pluto, Scorpio, and/or 8th House symbols, themes, and/or processes.
But it is not solely about Pluto and the 8th. Neptune and/or 12th can be part of dissolving old, unnecessary, overly crystallized ego structures and/or belief systems. Jupiter can connect with positive, expanding guidance and inspiration that helps us to see beyond the ego's "eyes" and filter, so that we can get more true/accurate perceptions and "update/fix" our belief systems.
Uranus can be involved with intuitive insights or breaking up stagnant patterns that can help in this process.
Saturn can test us and break us down too (especially via sudden, major changes that are difficult/painful/testing), especially with our more conscious fears and insecurities (while Pluto tends to address the more unconscious and deeply buried or collective unconscious fears and shadow).
Pluto can also be involved with symbolizing increases of ego attunement, along with Saturn, Mars, Moon, and/or Mercury, since these all correspond to the first 3, slower vibratory Centers/glands of the body the most.
(While the mid vibratory are Venus and Uranus, and the fast vibratory are Neptune, Jupiter, Sun, and Arcturus).
One of the ways that ego can greatly increase is by improper/premature raising of kundalini. Many people have energetic blocks in their 4th center that corresponds to the thymus gland, and astrologically to Venus. Sometimes called the "heart center", but does not correspond to the literal heart (that is the Sun).
So if a person raises kundalini unwisely and prematurely and they have energetic blocks at the 4th Center, what often happens is that the kundalini only cycles in the first 3 Centers and OVER STIMULATES THEM. This can turn more normal, balanced, and decent people towards the narcissistic in attunement. These people's sex drives, material desires and attachments, ego and control tendencies, etc, etc increase greatly.
There are two reasons why one can find so many "bad apples" among the gurus and spiritual teachers scene. The first reason is the psychological and spiritual principle of, not only does power corrupt, but it is the already corrupt that are most attracted to power to begin with. (And especially those in the categories of narcissist, malignant narcissist, sociopaths, and psychopaths).
The 2nd reason, is that some people start off with decent and helpful intentions, but they end up unwisely and prematurely stimulating kundalini via things like breath work or the like.
What kundalini in the body is, is the body electricity that is most strong/concentrated in the conductive spinal fluid, and which flows to the glands, organs, etc via the nerves and nervous system. Normally, it stays most concentrated in the lower part of the spine and only moves up and around enough to maintain the livingness and health of the body. But it can be stimulated to raise directly and right up the gland pathway which is roughly parallel with the spinal system and cord.
But again, many people have energetic blocks in the 4th Center, so not wise for them to be playing around with this process. Blocks can related to fears, distorted beliefs, traumas, negative entity attachments/influences, etc. Anything that is a barrier or distorting dampener between us and true, full, Divine, Universal, unconditional Love.
