I bought a Yellow Labrador Puppy Puppet yesterday from Guide Dogs for the Blind and I just wanted to share the story that came with him.

" Black Dog and Black Cat used to love lying out by their Master's pond when the moon was full. Yes the two were friends then and they had a lot to talk about, even though Dog was a little slower than Cat, just like now. One night, Cat was feeling particularly mischievous. "Dog", she said, "look over there! I see a big, round cheese floating in the water. Get it quick before someone else does." Of course, it was just the moon's reflection, but Dog, always hungry, dove in the water after the "cheese". He jumped for it again and again since it was always there. By morning, he had jumped in the water so many times that he had washed all the color out of his fun and turned it to yellow! Did Cat ever laugh at him then. And did that ever make him mad. Yellow Dog took after Cat and had been chasing her ever since. He still hopes that cheese will turn up one day too. If you throw something in the water, he's sure to go after it. It might just be the cheese and he wouldn't want to miss out." ~ Madeleine Scott

One of my charities is Leader Guide Dogs for the Blind It is one of the most loving generous charitys in the U.S. Our female prisoners in MI are involved in the training to help them learn compassion, trust and love.

The males in our family go blind by their 20`s due to a dis-ease called Retinita Pigmatosa . (sp) To date, it has no cure. Altho we haven`t had the dogs, we have friends who do.

I recommend all buy a puppet.(thanks Nephthys for giving me a chance to plug my charity )

Hey Juni...years ago I used to work for the Texas State Commission for the Blind. We had quite a few RP people on our caseload. With all the miracles and wonders of the modern age, I hope they manage to find a cure for Retinitis Pigmentosa one day soon. I think it could be on the way. A friend of mine works for a company in Vancouver that has developed a drug that helps prevent (maybe even reverses) macular degeneration. That was once as unstoppable as RP. I heard that they are working on other eye related products.

Fishkitten, that is wonderful news A cure is always on my prayer list. Blessedly my son missed the gene but my sisters boy has it. It`s too soon to tell if my daughters boy has it.

The last I heard Russia (is it still called Russia?) was close to breaking the dis-ease for a cure.
