Prior to moving to Reno, I gave my cat Smokey to a good friend of mine and my mother. She lives out a ways so I figured that would be best for him, and also, I would be working and going to school and wouldn't be able to give him adequate care. I thought about taking him back as she had offered, but figured he would be happy with her, because she has cats that he has got on with for some time. Well I called today, to see how Smokey was doing, and she said he had disappeared along with her cat and a cat she had also taken (a shelterless friend of Smokey's from back home). Well since this is Nevada, there is a great possibility they were attacked by coyotes. Anyway, my friend said they had vanished about a week ago. She has asked her neighbors and will put out flyers.

I'm devestated, because at times he was my only friend and would sleep in my bed, and keep me company. I don't even know how I'm going to tell my mom, because he had meant so much to her as well, possibly more so than myself. I am hoping that he will come back, and all the while my dad suggests I can always get another cat. However, I have never turned to my dad for emotional consolation because he is not one for THOSE types of matters, even though I know he means well.

I have lost pets before, but never before has it taken such an emotional toll on me. I know he could still be out there and I am hoping for his safe return.

OMG, I'm sorry to hear about this Dorkus.
That must be awful. There is still hope.
I'm asking for an to look over your cat.
This is a little strange because I was just about to post something about animal ESP. As I was reading your post, I was thinking maybe your cat was confused as to where you went - went looking for you?
I am praying for the safe return of both cats.

Stacey,

I am so sorry for you, it must be so horrible not knowing where he is and if he's okay.
Like 26t, I also wonder if he left with the intention of looking for you?

Ask 's to guide him home. Good Luck and keep us posted!
