http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LGW75qkpcQ Very upsetting video, imo. Not just because of the things the animals are going through but also the children who are being taught that this sort of thing is good or entertaining. IP: Logged |

This is really sick and sad.Are the laws really so different in China that this is the norm? What, if anything- can be done to change this behavior? Wow, very unsettling... Eleanore, while I'm not pleased to have seen this. I do appreciate you taking the time to bring awareness to the injustice. Thank you

I don't watch YouTube videos, so I don't know what it's showing. I do know that China is the largest importer of endangered species. China illegally (international laws) and legally (their own national laws) uses numerous different animal species for their "medecine". China has hundreds of SunBears locked in cramped cages, where they extract their bile through metal tubes stuck up their anuses, which they also use for medicinal purposes. These bears have no sunlight, no life, no anything. If you read a menu in a restaurant in China, it will have anything from Deer Penises to Tiger Paws on it. Also these items on the menu are very expensive. A lot of this information was given on CNN's Planet in Peril which aired last week. IP: Logged |

Un-bear-able: China's cruel animal Olympics reach new heightsYes, China is known for being a nightmare regarding animal rights. And we all know their history regarding human rights. There are animal rights activists trying to inspire change in China but, like the human rights activists, victories are few and the whole process is long and difficult. Not to get political in HC but their government really has a viscious hold on everything that happens there and, from their track record, that hasn't turned out to be in the best interest of its people or even its animals. The link above also has links relating more terrible animal abuses. A quick search on google should pull up more. IP: Logged |

------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

China is making friends with any other nations they can to get oil. They are the 2nd largest consumers of oil besides us. In exchange for oil, they are giving other countries such as Iran nuclear technology advice. I learned a lot about China lately on CNN, on one show called "When we run out of gas" and another called "Planet in Peril". IP: Logged |
